The place is really amazing. It’s obviously quite expensive, and there are just the two restaurants. But it’s all worth it for the amazing location, excursions and pleasantness.

The cost was pretty expensive, but most of our experience in Norway was expensive. I think that's just the way it is, so be prepared. Overall, it is a unique experience that is frankly worth the cost.

The Ice hotel is very unique. Beautiful ice and snow sculptures throughout as well as 5 uniquely designed rooms. We also stayed in the Artic Lodge in their "regular" rooms. The rooms were extremely comfortable with beautiful views of the Alta River and surrounding areas. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food was extraordinary as well at both Maku and Lavuu. The ice hotel room was obviously cold, but they supply sleeping bags that keep you warm and toasty. Bring a wool hat to sleep with so your head doesn't get cold.

Slow response time to emails. I booked an activity through the reception few days ahead only to discover that there was no activity scheduled on the day.

Loved the room and the views. Good dining options and nice spa. The hotel offers good options for activities

It was difficult as hotel guests to change restaurant reservations - in the we perservered and it worked out .

the hotel is on a lovely position on the Alta river . The rooms were lovely and comfortable and the activities were fantastic

Sorrisniva is a truly magical place! The location and the views from the lodge are breathtaking, the rooms spacious and well designed. You can watch the Aurora while lyung in bed (if there is solar activity). The staff and the owners are super friendly and helpful, there is a genuine happy atmosphere everywhere. It is a great place to both relax and have fun outdoors. Oh, and the food with mostly local Produce was amazing!! We will definitely be back as this was ine of the highlights of our trip to Nord Norge.

I wasnt kidding when I say I love everything about this hotel! The view is amazing, the hotel interior is beautiful, our room is so comfortable plus top notch service! They provided so many activities and we are glad to be able to book the ones we are keen because they even help plan our meal times so that we have ample rest to enjoy the activities and our meals. I especially love it when the staff see aurora activities and will come knocking on our doors or inform us if we are dining at the restaurants and everyone will gather together snapping pictures and all. It was really fun and super nice! The staff here is always smiley and helpful. We stayed 3 nights at the hotel and dinner menu is pretty much fixed except that you can choose 3,5 or 8 course meal. They will help switch whatever dish you had before so that you dont have to keep eating the same dish! How thoughtful is that?? We really appreciate it a lot and thanks to them, we got to try more dishes! I highly recommend this hotel to everyone I know and would love to come back and stay with them again!

Nothing! Everything about Sorrisniva was just perfect and even better than we could have ever expected!

A beautiful property filled with amazing people who went above and beyond to give us an incredible experience! Felt like being at a beautiful home where everyone loves you and takes the best care of all your needs. Personalized and warm attention, amazing food from fantastic chefs who were happy to sit with us and create incredible dinners (casual, relaxed atmosphere with truly michelin star food) and the most comfortable, cozy interiors. We highly recommend this property and will certainly return again! We went for Northern Lights, which we saw at the hotel ( staff watches and alerts you, plus there are fun trips to search for them) but think this property would also be amazing in the warm months ~ which we hope to also experience one day! We cannot say enough good things about Sorrisniva ~ a top 10+ for the hotel, the staff, the service, the food, the views, ambiance and overall experience!! We truly loved our time there and became very fond of everyone who helped make our trip a great one! We have traveled a lot, stayed at the best hotels in the world and have very high expectations. Sorrisniva easily met and exceeded them all! We are so thankful for our magical trip to Norway and being able to spend our time with the wonderful family at Sorrisniva❤️ Memories for a lifetime!

Visited early Oct 23. Amazing luxury riverside location with contemporary stylish rooms and spaces. Fabulous tasting menu - serious hats off to the chefs!! Staff very friendly and helpful, especially re knowledge of northern lights and when to see them / what to look for. Will definitely be back, hopefully soon!

Would have loved it if there were a spa (theirs is opening on Dec 2023) and a fitness room.

Location was beautiful. Facilities and rooms are new and well maintained. Staff was friendly and eager to help make your stay special. Breakfast was delicious!

The location and views are beautiful! The staff is great! From reception Christine and Hanna were so nice and helpful. From the restaurant Marie was wonderful and very attentive! The chef was friendly as well. The food and wine pairing amazing! The breakfast was set so pretty and so many great options. Can’t wait to go back! The bed was very very comfortable! And the view of the river from the room priceless!

I recently stayed at this hotel on the Alta River with my family and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by friendly and welcoming staff like Nicholas, Margret, Tonje, Josh, and Maya who went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel is situated in a beautiful location, with stunning views of the river and surrounding wilderness. The facilities at the hotel are top-notch, with everything we needed to relax and unwind after a day of outdoor activities. We particularly enjoyed the sauna and hot tub, which were perfect for soothing sore muscles. The food at the hotel was also excellent, with a variety of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We appreciated the effort put into accommodating our dietary needs and preferences. What really set this hotel apart, however, was the attention paid to families with children. The staff were incredibly friendly and patient with our kids, and went above and beyond to make them feel welcome. They provided extra snow suits and boots for the kids, which was very helpful, and even had a special menu with kid-friendly options. Our children loved playing in the snow and exploring the nearby forest, and we felt completely at ease knowing they were safe and happy. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel on the Alta River for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway in Norway. The staff, facilities, and location are all top-notch, and the attention paid to families with children really made our stay special. We hope to return someday and experience it all again!
