The outside seems dated. They could improve that because it gives a bad impression but once inside everything is much better. Feels lovely.

Breakfast was excellent given that there were only a small number of guests. They still put on a good variety of foods. The lounge deck over the water is a great place to relax with a drink. The rooms are very spacious with a full sized lounge 🙂

No soap/hand wash in room at all and when the staff were told, they must have forgotten to replace the wash refills. Breakfast very ordinary.

Room standards below par ( although to be fair on the hotel - it was very clean). However, rooms could definitely be improved in terms of decor and comfort standards

The bathroom was very tiny and the shower with a curtain is a really uncomfortable system.

The hotel need renivation asap. It looks and smells old. No tv in the room. Very very basic room. All doors and windows are very old and worn out. No places to eat after 8pm in Ulvik so you have to eat in the hotel. You just ordered 2 course meal and not free to order what you want. No options. The staff could be nicer and not complain when we ask to clean a table in dinner. Dinner was very expensive for what you get.

Bathroom was a bit odd. You sit with your feet in the shower. But the room was large and comfortable.

The rooms though are of different quality, some are recently renovated and have bathtubs. While others are very shabby and with tiny shower. Not clear what is the logic behind distribution of rooms between guests. One big disadvantage is a smoking area on the main terrace right next to the breakfast are. It definitely should be moved farther away. Dinner is nice, but available only as a dinner package with two courses and a drink.

The view is excellent and it is definitely a main feature of the hotel. Rooms are spacious.

The breakfast and the rooms are very basic. Compared to Australia and Asia it's a three star hotel with five star price. But this is not unique to Strand Fjordhotel, all hotels in Norway seems to be the same.

The location of the hotel is excellent, but like most Norwegian hotels the rooms are fairly basic and old, the hotel needs a renovation. The room we had King Suite with Balcony was roomy and had table and lounge suite. The views from our room was spectacular.

Slightly old fashioned room. Although the dinner was good it too was a bit old fashioned in its presentation.

Fabulous location overlooking the fjord. Nice terrace to sit out on in the evening. Good buffet breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff, reasonably priced. Bus stop right outside.

Evening meal is overpriced and only one choice so we ate elsewhere. The room is quite basic and bathroom is very strange. You have to put your feet in the shower tray when you go to the toilet and the toilet seat sticks over the shower.

Breakfast was good and the view from the room and the balcony is absolutely exceptional

90's fashioned hotel. Seemed old and somehow dirty. Breakfast was very basic

The front staff was not very nice or accommodating. I booked because of wanting access to bikes and kayaks and then I’m told that I cannot use. Very disappointing.

The only place open in town to eat. The food was straight out of the 60’s, heavy sauces and overcooked vegetables. They needed to be more diligent checking supplies. Dispenser was out of soap at the sink, and ran out in the shower shortly after - no one was at the desk to remedy the situation.
