We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

PortugalRegarding less good things, I had two annoying things that I did not like. The first is the communication with the housepersons. At distance, trough internet, they were too polite and because I need to pay the cleaning, with I think is strange for the price that I pay for the house, the messages treat me like a person that I do not pay the bill, to harsh The second point is the parking. Was strange, but I did not have space for my car and I need to carry the luggage, with rain, because I have the park with more cars that houses.
It's a fantastic house, comfortable, with a good view, spacious, with necessary services, with everything. Regarding the house, nothing to declare, it's a good place to stay. The rooms could be a little bigger

FranceThe kitchen lacked a microwave and a toaster. Bathroom shower needs a bit of maintenance. The cabin could use some better lighting and a few extra switches.
The cottage was incredibly cozy, spacious, and nestled peacefully in the woods. The views are amazing! For an extra fee one can order wood and further up the coziness factor.

MexicoAfter we arrived at the property we realised that the check-in was back in the town so we had to drive back, definitely not the best experience after driving for a full day. We stayed for 3 nights at the property and it only had 2 toilet paper rolls. When I contacted the staff they said that they only provide 2 per stay.
The place is very nice, we were comfortable during our stay. It has everything you need for cooking and to have a pleasant stay.

IsraelWe had to drive to another location to registration site to leave credit card number for cleaning fee and then drive back to the apartments. 2 places are 10 minute drive apart. Also cleaning lady entered apartment without knocking even at some point, to pick up kids chair. Apartment opens up with a code and cannot be locked from inside, so we felt like our privacy was intruded.
Location is nice, ski site view of cable cars and the mountain, river can be seen from the window.

SwedenThe kitchen utensils could probably need some updates. We were also feeling that the cleaning supplies were lacking. Since you pay a deposit and do your own cleaning it would be nice with things to clean the toilet and floors etc easier. Also would be good with a washing machine if you stay longer.
We really loved the location of this place. It was convenient to reach a lot of sights in this part of Norway. It was more spacious than we thought as well. The staff was super friendly and helpful when we had issues. It is quite fun that sheep walk past outside during the day.

BelgiumThe never ending chain of automated messages via e-mail before, during and after our stay. An enormous focus on house rules and how you will be punished. The welcome guide, is not a welcome guide. It's pages full of rules, rules and other rules. And the endless warnings that you will be charged for not following them. Not something you feel welcomed by. We had the complete opposite experience with our 5 other venues in Norway, where guests were welcomed more in an "enjoy-your-stay" atmosphere, rather than this "threatening" approach.

NorwayWe selected to clean after ourselves, and then a deposit was required - however that was not handled by Booking.com, so we had to visit Visit Stranda to authorize credit card for this reservation. Not a big problem since they were open late in evening - but perhaps that could have been more automatic. Would also have been good if they told us that Google will not guide us correctly to address, as a new road is used for access is still not on the Google map).
Very easy by using door code - in principal no need to meet anyone to show us the place. Good house manual and signs to make us aware of the most important things. Mountain view and all in all a great place to relax.

United StatesThe neighborhood felt isolated, sort of empty, and wasn't very pictaresque, although the area is absolutely gorgeous. The bed in the smaller bedroom was very uncomfortable, but the couch was thankfully better. Also, the stairs coming down to the unit were steep -- a railing would be great!
The inside of the unit was very nice. The ski lift up to the amazing views was a real bonus, and kayaking out of Hellesylt was beautiful.
