Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaIt is expensive even for Norwegian standards. Not crazy about the fact that half the people wear swimsuits, but I knew this in advance. Takes 35 minutes to get to from Oslo central, an hour from the airport.
Absolutely amazing hotel and spa! Fantastic premises, beautiful room, all the amenities and a mind blowing breakfast. Two days is not enough time to experience all the facilities. Highly recommend.

SpainThe fact that we had to buy swimwear to not be naked was a bit dissappointing. In for example farris bad, everybody entering the spa gets a free peshtamel and if you stay over night you get swimwears to borrow.
The room was equipped perfectly, everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable.

IrelandThere was nothing not to like about this place!
Everything at The Well was outstanding; the spa, the room, the food, the cleanliness and the environment. But what truly made The Well stand out is their staff. Their customer centricity is next level! Special thanks to Nora, Sunniva and Malak from the reception and Sven at the Brasseriet. All staff at the Brasseriet were highly customer friendly. I can highly recommend this place and will definitely go there again!

AustraliaA bit more information could be provided to guests on how to enter/use both the The Well spa services and the restaurant.
Staying at The Well was the perfect start to our honeymoon. Guests staying at the hotel have full access to the spa and all the saunas, spas and pools were just a fantastic experience. The rooms were large, very comfortable and clean and the food at the restaurant was phenomenal (though dinner was pricey, like much of Norway). It was also easy to get to, with two buses stopping just outside of The Well.

United KingdomI think the service could have been better: a bit more attention could have been made towards guests who have ordered things to their room and having those items ready for their arrival could be improved. In addition, it would also have to notify the guests where exactly they are okay to be nude/ clothing optional. I was told there were areas that required some sort of covering, but far too late in our stay. Had we had known when we arrived, I think I would have rated this place higher. I was a bit disappointed when the breakfast hostess didn't place us in a quiet area away from the busy-ness of high trafficked walk areas. The areas with the most foot traffic shouldn't have tables there. If anything, relocate a food table or remove the tables to allow people to move freely, and seat people along the wings of the bistro. It wasn't enjoyable sitting in the middle where you had people stand on either side of you while you ate. Annoying. I also found it weird to see people cringing at nudity. These are other guests who have decided to make the journey, pay the money at a place that allows nudity. I don't understand it. If you know there's going to be nudity, don't cringe when you see it. Go somewhere else.
The location can be found about an hour's drive south of the main part of Oslo. It will take about 45 minutes to drive from Oslo Airport to The Well. I lied the decor and how spacious the place was. There weren't any gimmicky, tacky interiors to be found. Everything was well designed and planned out. I liked the plentiful supply of robes, slippers and towels and how reactive the staff was to everything.

NorwayThat they didn't have the vegan burger on the menu anymore. We were so hungry after a whole day of being at the spa, but all we could eat was a salad or a whole grilled eggplant. We ordered the eggplant thinking it would come with some sort of protein or carbohydrate, but it was just an eggplant. Which was wayy too salty, gave us an upset stomach and that cost us 300,-. Who charge 300,- for an eggplant?! Very disappointed about the vegan food and the staff's knowledge. At breakfast time they told me a specific cupcake was vegan, but it was not. It was lactose free. People working with food should know the difference. The prices are also way too high. The shower in our room leaked into the toilet part of the bathroom and further. Also, we could not turn off all the lights in our room! We like to sleep in total darkness, but we couldn't turn off the lights all the way. We also didn't know that in order to lock the hotel room door, you have to do so with the key after closing the door. After getting back from the spa, we discovered something white all over our floors. Still don't know what that was or if someone had been in there while we were out.
We asked for late checkout and got to check out at noon without having to pay extra.

United KingdomWhilst there was plenty of stations to fill up your own bottle, it would of been nice to have some small paper cups available to just quickly rehydrate, which is what most saunas I’ve been to has, however I understand and appreciate there is also a paying bar which supplies bottled water, so I can see why there isn’t. I was also a little worried regarding the nudity side of the spa, as this is how me and my wife most like to enjoy the facilities, however after reading some of the reviews, we were a little nervous we would be the only naked ones in there. After a while, you could see this wasn’t the case, as there was generally a good mix of 50/50 clothed/nude, however it would be great if there were particular days where no swimwear was mandatory, as everyone wants to feel comfortable (not just the clothes guests!)
The Well is an absolutely beautiful building, everything felt clean, fresh and new. After spending an hour or two in the spa, it becomes easy to navigate round and is very nicely laid out. The staff were also excellent and we felt very looked after. I highly recommend booking a table, as the food is second to none. One thing I really enjoyed about the spa (and the whole of Oslo) was that it was very peaceful, quiet and respectful.
