How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Bed was not super comfortable, but ok.
Breakfast was amazing! Location is also great, very central but still quiet. We loved that there was Nespresso coffee, tea and water available in the lobby at any time.

Room was perfectly designed, cozy bed, very clean and comfortable. The location of the hotel is in the very center of Tromsø and perfect to explore the city. We absolutely loved the breakfast buffet, the variety of food options was outstanding. We recommend this place and would come back!

It is overpriced for what you get. As a comparison, for the price of one night here we stayed 2 nights at Thon Rosenkrantz in Oslo which was 4* and hugely superior in quality and service. Tromso is of course a tourist town and more expensive, but they could offer better value for money. The receptionist was not very well informed about the area and what to recommend us to visit. We also asked if there was a ski slope nearby and she had to Google it.
The location is great, a few minutes walk to the main street and the port, where most activities start from, with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The room was ok, beds where comfy and bathroom was clean and had a heated floor. The breakfast buffet was decent, with GF options, and their own home made bread which we loved.

Room top floor with sloped ceilings but enough room just. Pillows were awful, way too soft. Room not cleaned on a Sunday and had to chase for toilet paper. Room a bit pricey for what it was.
Great location, lovely breakfast with lots of choices and all fresh. Comfy bed. Easy system in reception to order a taxi. 10 mins from the airport. Coffee and water available in reception.

The person at the desk did not know much about possible things to do in the city. Not everything at the breakfast looked fresh. Taste was good.

I had no kettle, and the cleaner took my spoon that I brought from home and also threw away my interdental brush. Had a view of a brick wall but it was OK. TV did not work, was not plugged in and the plug did not stretch far enough to the socket.
Comfortable beds, clean, great location, friendly staff, able to book a taxi from reception, great shower, good towels.

The general environment of the hotel was very good. The breakfast was exceptional, the weekday dinner was not so good, very bland and not much choice. My only real problem was my toilet seat was broken, I reported this but it never got fixed.

Avoid room 107 as it backs onto the kitchen so noisy and banging at 4.30am!

Only point to notice was that the change of towels was not yet done before 15 pm and we had to ask to reception to do it.
The breakfast was very good! Probably the best one during my 2 weeks in Norway and location was perfect in the center.

Front desk staff weren’t friendly. Shower was cold on second morning, although I did manage to get warm water after about 2 mins. Not sure what went wrong.
