Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicThe room was quite hot. Because of no proper curtains there was light during the whole night and it was difficult to sleep. Separate bathrooms were two floors away. I would appreciate a hairdrier in the bathroom.
Cheap option in Åndalsnes. Near to the center of the town. The room was cozy. There is a nice garden in the backyard.

United StatesThis is an affordable guesthouse option in a beautiful region and quaint small town. The hostess is an extremely helpful and friendly person. I saw gorgeous sights near here and had a cozy room to come back to. There are good parking and meal options at and near the guesthouse.

United KingdomThe decor was flamboyant, welcoming, and comfortable. Our yellow bedroom was spacious and the beds comfortable. The only downsides ate that the kitchen is small but that didn't effect us as the hostel wasn't full when we stayed. And the ( very nice) shower rooms are in the basement but there is a toilet on the main bedroom floor.. The owners were very friendly and helpful and they keep the hostel immaculately clean.

AustraliaStairs up to room and down to showers.
Access to a kitchen, close to station and cable car.Initially view of front entrance off putting however clean inside. Shared bathrooms however worked well as fairly quiet stay! It was the only place available in town so pleased it worked out ok! Supermarket fairly close plus a very nice thai restaurant near the fjord.

Kellie the host was so friendly. Her place was so cute with warm interior. The location is also walking distance to the station and center and next to her place there was a nice cafe too. The checkin process was easy and it is also easy to communicate with her (fast response). I would like to recommend her place to stay comfortably in Åndalsnes.

United Arab EmiratesEverything (rooms, kitchen, "lounge") is very small. Our "family room" had a bank bed and three very simple single beds. There was little space for us and our 4 suitcases in the room. The kitchen is not big enough for all the guests of the hostel. It is not suitable for more than 3 people at the same time. There were always people waiting to use the stove (only two hot plates!), microwave or boiler. The fridge was also tiny and definitely not big enough to use for all guests. There was only 1 table for 5 people available, so if someone was using it already we had to wait as there was absolutely no other table in the room or in the lounge. Besides, the kitchen is situated on the 3rd floor, so even if we wanted to sit on the terrasse (which we didn't as it was cold) we would have had to go up and down the stairs several times. We could not open the window more than 5 cm and it was really bad as with 5 people in the room it was not fresh enough. Also, we could hear clearly people speaking outside our room, which was next to the kitchen, even as late as 11pm. I must admit it was my mistake that I booked this place, as I did not notice it was a hostel and I normally never book places with shared bathrooms and kitchen. But in the room description that I received after my booking there was a toilet and a shower which made me believe that it was not shared.
This is a small hostel with 6 rooms. There are only shared bathrooms and a shared kitchen. Very close (5 min walk) to the bus station to go to the start of Romsdalseggen hike and 5 min walk from the end of the hike. A few nice restaurants around and a convenience store.

Romania- the "deluxe" green room was big, but it had two tiny bunk beds and an uncomfortable single bed that my boyfriend slept very badly in. And this room was considerably costlier than the economy one. - it was very cold inside
- interior design is lovely and creative - great location next to train/bus station and Sødahlhuset - common areas were very clean everyday - a huge common space downstairs and a smaller one upstairs, super cozy - nice yard - the economy room we first stayed in was tiny, but rather ok. Comfy double bed and a sync in the room

United StatesKitchen sink was quaint and yes weird, but impractical as water would splash to the floor regardless of how careful you were. Upstairs toilet had no vent, essential as it was right next to kitchen.
