No hairdryer was provided. Our cottage had a loft bedroom with quite steep and narrow steps. Any tall person should just book the other cottage. It wasn’t a problem for us, just an FYI.

Very cute cottage in an outstanding location. There was a walk to a glacier from the property which was breathtaking. Self contained had every necessary amenity. We had a lovely dinner onsite too, delicious home cooked meal.

The location was AMAZING, and staying in a grass roofed house was a must for us, so we were very happy! The drive was so picturesque and so many waterfalls! We wished we could have stayed an extra night. We ordered some homemade rolls upon arrival which was a nice touch after travelling for three weeks!

Amazing stay with sensational location. One of the best locations I ever been to, you live between mountains next to glacier and waterfalls, fresh air and virgin nature. 100% recommend it to anyone!

Having a washing machine would have made it complete.

Fantastic location! Nestled in the valley and surrounded by mountains with waterfalls and stunning scenery all around. The Briksdal glacier hike trail is a 10 min walk from the property. The owners also serve up breakfast and dinner (upon request). The cabin (Trollbu) is cozy and has a kitchen with amenities and a newly refurbished bathroom. The beds on the first floor are warm and comfortable. All in all an ideal place to base yourself and explore the surrounding areas around Olden.

The accomodation was very comfortable - only drawback was continuously needing to watch your head, so as not to bump it.

Beautiful location, in a peaceful setting.

Huge cabin in a serene and beautiful location

    • Stayed 1 night

The cabin is huge - practically a holiday house with 3 bedrooms, a big kitchen, living room and eating area. fully equipped kitchen (although missing a cutting board) with a dishwasher, as well as an outside grill that the owners can help supply wood for it. The area itself is incredible - driving nearby a turquoise lake on the way, while surrounded by a beautiful fjord and glaciers, with 2 glacier tongues visible well from the cabin, and one of them reachable through a 45 min hike to a nearby hill (recommended by the owner). The owners also have a small restaurant to serves dinner - although we didn't eat there, the menu looked very good and the prices were more than affordable.

Awesome place to stay, strongly recommend!

I don't have almost anything to dislike, but I'll state that the ceiling in the room was quite low (tall people beware) and I did hit my head a few times. Also take note that some of the rooms are 1-2 minutes walk outside from the reception and meals (have you coat available if travelling in a cold/rainy/snowy season).

First of all, the location is epic, located in a beautiful valley in between the mountains, waterfalls and glaciers peeking from on top of the mountains. The staff (I only met one person since I was travelling after the tourist season) was very nice and helpful, it seems to be a kind-of family business. The food was great, I booked a dinner in addition to the breakfast and the meals truly were awesome. I do recommend booking a dinner - the food is worth it, the price is good compared to restaurants, and anyway there aren't almost any restaurants or cafes nearby. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable.

Super beautiful, cosy and comfortable cabin, the interior was just as stunning as the outside. The location is also very scenic so is the drive there and it's perfectly situated for hiking to the Briksdalbreen glacier. We sadly only stayed for one night but would have loved to enjoy this cabin for a longer time, it had all we needed and everything worked well, the shower was great in terms of water temperature and pressure. Would come back any time!

    Pleasent farm stay
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Double Room
    • Stayed 2 nights

It's a fully functioning farm, and it means fertilizing and not a very pleasant smell, so be prepared to keep the windows closed (something we expirienced, maybe it's rare?)

We spent two very pleasant nights here. We originally planned to book something on the lake, but there were no vacancies, so instead of the lake view, we enjoyed the view of the glacier and the surrounding mountains. The location is perfect if you aim to hike to the glacier. You can start early in the morning or late in the evening and avoid the crowds when tens of buses arrive. The double room and the bathroom were recently renovated and were clean, but there were no bed lights or sockets near the bed, so it was a little bit inconvenient.

The only downside was the bedroom was in a loft area. You could not stand up. Would be a challenge for someone with limited mobility.

    Everything was great!

Beautiful location just 2km from a popular glacier National park but there were also amazing hiking trails right there behind the main building. The woman that runs the place was wonderful. She cooked me a nice hot dinner after a long day of hiking. The cottage was spacious and had a beautiful view. This was one of my favorites places I stayed in my 2 weeks in Norway.

Such a delightful place to stay, cosy and warm and authentic. We loved staying here and wished that we had booked for a longer period as there was far more to do in terms of hiking than we had realised. So many homely touches which gave such attention to detail as to make our short stay very relaxing.

A railing on the stairs going up to the bed room spaces wold be nice.

Where to start! The owner met us when we arrived at dinner time. We did not have any plans for dinner and miles from the nearest town. She offered to make a fish dinner for us (then breakfast the next morning). She was a such a gracious person! Amazing farm with well appointed large living roof cabins.

Nature, a river, waterfalls, sheep, green everywhere. The Briksdalbre glacier is just a few minutes away by car. The breakfast was good and the hostess was friendly. Remember it's not a hotel. You either need to bring your own towels and sheets, or rent them in place.
