Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Cute little cottage that was warm and comfortable. It had all of the necessary items for a short stay. The host kept us informed about road closures and the best way to get to Geiranger.

NetherlandsThere was nothing that I didn't like. I loved it all. However, it's good to keep the following in mind. If you are visiting during autumn or winter, make sure to check for road closures. After booking the host will keep you updated. The cabins are a bit closer to each other than I thought, but this wasn't an issue for me at all.
Absolutely love the location! Great views. We made use of a bungalow, everybody loved it. The kids had a blast in the attic. .

BelgiumThe road to the center of Geiranger on foot, sometimes you have to walk right next to cars, not that it's a problem but just be careful with small kids!
Good location, very comfortable small house with everything in it. We enjoyed it!

United StatesWe wished sheets/bedding were included in the fee, as we almost forgot to request (since sheets/bedding are usually included, we didn't think too much about it). But other than that, we actually wished we could have stayed an extra night.
These were the cutest, coziest cabins! The night prior, we had stayed at very modern, container-ship cabins which were 'Instagrammable', but not comfortable AT ALL. While the cabins at Vinje weren't modern in any way, they were adorable, spacious, clean and had all the amenities of the 'modern' ones we stayed in, including a small kitchen where you can cook meals, if you'd like (Joker grocery store in town). The grounds were right alongside a river and small waterfall - and while we didn't have the time to hike, there appear to be many hiking trails nearby. The cabins are also right near the town core of Geiranger - easy to get to our kayaking adventure in the fjord and a delicious dinner at Brasserie Posten. The staff were very friendly, check-in/check-out easy. They bake goods (croissants, buns) in the morning which are available for purchase at a small price. The only additional cost was for sheets/bedding. But overall, the cost to stay here was cheap, regardless of the add'l bedding cost.

BrazilThe cabin has all one needs: there´s a comfy living room, a dining table, a kitchen, a bedroom with two beds, a bunk bed, a large sleeping room under the roof, and a bathroom. There's a veranda with a grill outside and a direct view of the Geiranger Fjord. What´s also nice is that the cabin is organized in a smart way, and there are tons of sockets and a very decent internet connection. The location is about 5 min by car from town (supermarket, petrol station), and you can start hiking the trails to e.g. Storsæterfossen, Vindsåshornet, or Laushornet right from there.

United KingdomThere was no reliable wifi in our cabin so we used 4g. Always a risk at campsites but a bit disapointing as they say wifi is available. The kitchen area of the chalet was a bit dark but that was just a minor issue. It was perfectly usable. I don't really understand why they don't provide sheets/towels in the chalets but they were available for a fee so we paid to hire them.
Great value for money. Easy to get to from the ferry port and just outside the main town of Geiranger. We were able to park directly outside our chalet which was very convenient. Lovely views of the mountains and there is a waterfall actually within the camping site which is very pretty. The chalet was a good size with a small kitchen area, seating area. It rained while we were there but there was a nice balcony to sit outside in better weather with lovely views.

KuwaitThere was only 1 mirror located in bathroom. Need atleast 1 more mirror outside for others to get ready.
Amazing views of Fjord, waterfall flowing along the property. Very peaceful area with parking space. Amazing morning & evening views from patio outside the cottage. We are a family of 4 but there is enough space to accommodate 7 people. Many hiking tracks around the property. It is a camping area with facilities for Camper Vans however they have cottages too which are suitable for families traveling by car & in need of house with kitchen facilities.
