Very very small room, and a lot of noise from the roof-window because of strong winds outside.

    Nice and cosy hotel.

The rooms are outdated and there was mold. There is no elevator so we had to drag our suitcases up ourselves.

The staff was very nice and kind. They made our room ready even before the check in time. Our room had a big balcony and we had rituals goods in the shower. Breakfast was a feast. They offered us meat extra since we do not eat pork. It was accomodating.

No elevator to the third floor.

It’s a building with very unique decor. Beds were comfortable and the breakfast buffet was excellent.

We would suggest darker room curtains for rooms looking eastwards (In the morning it's too light too early).

Historic hotel, full of charme. Very good position, near the sea. Good breakfast although the food should be covered. Good in-house restaurant. The parking slots in front of the hotel are free of charge for 24 hours.

The staff, especially the front desk staff, was not friendly at all. They stayed isolated back behind a screen and didn’t mutter Good Morning or any other greeting to guests. The bathrooms had a problem with the drains being smelly. The drain covers were not nice.

Beautiful location in such a nice little village.

Aging if the property is too obvious, it definitely need some “care” and some renovation (especially bathroom and walls in the room). Don’t want to comment the design - it’s matter of taste. But it’s definitely not up to mine. Don’t recommend to open the window at night - the window is leading to the waste sorting bins of the restaurant, so sounds of thrown glass bottles to the bin supplemented our sleep at night.

Great location, probably location was that what I liked most. All right breakfast, but not a remarkable one. Easy check in and check out. Restaurants and bars in a close neighbourhood. Friendly and helpful staff.

Charming and comfy hotel in a small town

A bit tiny room, it was hard to move around the bed, not a lot of space. For example there is no room to put the chair in front of the table to sit down. Interenet was slow.

The staff was exceptional, very pleasent and helpful. They let us check in 3 hours earlier which was very helpful in this small town. The bed was another level of comfortable.

This is a classy joint. It's worth a few extra dollars. The location's perfect, right on the waterfront adjacent to the vast old fort. The restaurant's halibut with red caviar, pickled apple, mushrooms and cabbage was a rare treat. Try it. If you like fish you won't regret it. It's an ancient gem of a hotel, so there's no lift to the first, second and third floors, but the climb could be good for you. It's an easy morning's drive from Oslo or the Horten ferry across the fiord from Moss. There are plenty of other sights within easy range with a car.

The room was tiny, and cold on arrival. Too many steps up to the third floor dragging baggage, especially for elderly over the age of 70. Difficult to find a parking space near the hotel.

Excellent breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.

Booked a standard double and it was just about big enough - not a lot of room to walk between the end of the bed and the table.

Fabulous location opposite the fort, right by the water edge and the harbour. Quirky hotel with lots of historical items to look at. Good size bathroom. Lovely, friendly staff who all spoke English.

The bottom of the window sill was at street level, so not the best view. I suppose it was one of the cheaper rooms though.

Breakfast buffet was great, location in the middle of town.
