The location was great. Loved the bird life. Loved having no tv or wifi. Back to basics. The host was lovely. If we ever come back to the Barrier we would definitely here stay again :-)

Very convenient location, walking distance 5-10 min from shop, café, The Irish pub, which for Great barrier is a big "+". Clean and peaceful place, fast and professional responses from the owner Fiona, on all my questions before going. She did organize for us a rent car, as well. If you need a place to fully recharge, this is the one.

Our accommodation was obviously a section separated from a larger house. We awoke to clinking on crockery and murmering nextdoor and felt we had to be conscious of not disturbing neighbors in the evenings.

It was very peaceful and quiet. Fiona was friendly and had lots of information for us. Friendly farm animals and plentiful bird life.

I would have loved it if plunger coffee was supplied, rather than the given instant coffee.

This is a lovely accommodation option, based just a few minutes from the little town of Stonewall. We chose to use our host, Fiona, to book both our flights to and from the island as well as our rental car, and both worked out perfectly (especially when our flight times were changed and she able to let us know immediately). The wifi at the premises was intermittent, but that is par for the course for Great Barrier Island. We utilized the unit kitchen for all our breakfasts, and found it to be well-equipped. Would recommend this accommodation option as a good base to stay when visiting GBI.

Myself and my partner stayed here after doing the Aotea track tramping so it was great to rest up after 2 days of being out in the rain. Perfect location within walking distance of the local supermarket. The owners Fiona and her husband were incredibly accommodating as we arrived a little earlier than our check-in time and were able to get us checked in earlier after waiting for a short time and provided us with a hot cup of tea (the best thing after walking in the pouring rain) so was great to stay here - highly recommend

Very good facilities and comfortable. The unit was very roomy, quiet and in superb surroundings. Flights of tui and kaka provided some nice natural entertainment for us. Guests are encouraged be environmentally conscious with disposal of rubbish in keeping with the whole philosophy of the island. Altogether a lovely place to stay.

The lounge at the top of the stairs was a bit difficult to access.

A great stay, very welcoming hosts. Lovely setting, handy to Tryphena amenities. Were met at Claris Airport with our rental car. Lots of great advice re Island life , and places to eat, shop, explore and relax. Unit well equipped, very clean, and a very comfy bed. A very relaxing place to stay.

Location is great. Easy stroll to the most beautiful beach, shop, cafe and Irish Pub. Great hosts and if you're into animals (which we are!), there are pigs, chickens and a dog. :) Lovely, modern accommodation.

The 2nd bedroom with the bunk bed pretty small and not easy to get into top bunk.

Good location in Tryphena close to Beach, Store and Irish Pub. Nice well equipped kitchen with gas stove and good sized lounge. Very helpful and informative host.
