The property was very cute with all the art deco touches. It was very comfortable and the beds were soft and cosy. The host Laurie was amazing and attentive and made the stay special with all his thoughtful extra touches.

A beautiful little bed and breakfast decorated with immaculate detail to represent the Art Deco style of Napier. It was like staying in a mini-museum. Lovely host, only a short drive to Napier city, and very warm and cosy. Would highly recommend!

I guess the only thing would be the bulbs used in the bedside tables. They were cool and cast sickly green light through the stained glass of the beautiful lamps. I am someone who does not like overhead lights--I prefer lamp light. In this situation, though, I couldn't tolerate the lamp lights (the floor lamp was perfect, though, as it had a warm bulb).

Beautiful and cozy little apartment separate from main house. Thoughtfully decorated, and guests are provided with a lovely selection of fruits, cereals, and hot beverages. Milk was also provided. Perfect location to visit wineries and the beach. Will definitely return!

This place was fantastic! The host was so friendly and helpful. All of the extra comforts of home made our stay exceptional. The bed was so comfortable and warm. Lovely shower and all very clean. All of the trinkets and photos make it feel like you are staying with family, great place to relax. Close to town, less than 10 minute drive to the centre of town.

This was a great place to stay. Laurie was an amazing host, very friendly and welcoming. We loved the art deco design, so many things to look at and enjoy. We used it as our base for exploring Napier, Clive and Havelock North. It was an excellent location, we couldn’t have been happier.

Lovely, homelike accommodation, beautiful, quiet area. The kindest host. Old fashioned accommodation, impeccably clean and lovingly presented. The owner was so kind and friendly. A spacious property with all facilities available. Thanks a lot for barbecue area. Wine, cheese, fruit and breakfast as a nice and yammy bonus. Enjoy your stay.

Amazing Art Deco furnishings and artefacts, so beautifully and lovingly put together! Laurie is a wonderful host, source of most interesting local info, nothing is too much trouble. Huge bowl of fruit and other goodies (cookies, milk, specialty coffees & other drinks) for us on arrival and everything was so very comfortable- the bed linen was superb! Wish we could have stayed longer! 😄

The toilet had a special way to flush which we did find a little annoying.

We loved the art deco theme. Very cute comfortable unit. Special treat of wine and cheese upon arrival! Lovely host.

The house was filled with art deco artifacts. Intriguing but there was hardly any free surface. Higher quality sheets would have been good.

We were greeted warmly and informatively by our host Way more gratifying than a lockbox. There were several informative books on art deco generally and in Napier.

The only thing that could be improved was to have some dishes that could be used in the microwave, I mentioned this to Laurie and he was going to attend to this.

Laurie was very friendly and helpfull when we met him. The house was so quaint and unusual with very Art Deco furniture. Beds very comfortable. Good outdoor table to sit at in the sun.

This is not to be missed. The rental is a meticulously restored cottage in Art Deco style, with many antiques from the 1930s. You will feel like you are staying in a museum, but everything is available for use. The host Laurie is tremendously gracious and helpful, and he provided a huge bowl of fresh fruit as well as breakfast cereal and other goodies to get us started. The property is a little bit outside of Napier proper; that was not an issue at all because distances are short. Bottom line: stay here; you won't be disappointed.
