Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandNothing comes to mind
One of the loveliest camp sites my partner and I have been to. We stayed in the pod, it was very clean and tidy and honestly exceeded our expectations. The camp site is surrounded by beautiful trees and a swimmable river. There were also two walking tracks only a couple minutes walk away, one led to a waterfall as well. Highly recommend!

New ZealandDouble bed mattress was a bit thin, bunks were ok. Wall-Heater would have been ok on a cold day but on extremely cold days another heater would have been more comfortable.
Family with 2 older children: We visited Ashley park in the middle of winter, Girls liked the playground and watched a Movie in the common room. We expected it to be cold and it was. luckily we took extra blankets and sleeping bags with us and we used the wall heater too Great that the accessible Cabins were set up with a bathroom between each set of 2 cabins so no walks outside, Hot showers were great!.

New ZealandWe got there quite late in the pouring rain, but owner was so friendly to stay open and welcome us on arrival, very much appreciated. It was a pity we didn’t see much of the camping ground as it was already dark when we arrived, would have loved to have a good look around and to stay a bit longer.

New ZealandThere could be some more illumination - with solar power lights maybe. It would be nice to have power on the site.
Privacy and being able to have some peaceful and restful time. The pod is located on a separate area from the camping, which had a great view to the hill.

New ZealandThe staff needs to be trained. On the day we checked out, it was pouring rain, and we hoped to park in front of the public bathroom for a few minutes to brush our teeth. However, the staff was very unfriendly and unkind, forcing us to walk in the rain. It was truly sad and uncomfortable.
The pod is fine, but very small. No power, and no FREE WIFI!!!

AustraliaThe room was clean but a little tired.
The cute picture is not the accomodation. The room is in an older style purpose built multi room dwelling. The property has a history and the people are lovely.

SpainIf it wasn’t for the husband, I would have rated this place 4-5 stars. The lady was really helpful and kind. The chalet was super neat and comfortable. They did a wonderful job making it and it was cozy, with nice lighting and picnic facilities . Only the husband was tyrant. Walking around on the campsite with 4 big dogs in a cage, checking if people behaved and follow the rules. I partly feel sorry writing this review because the lady was so sweet and I wish them good business.

New ZealandNo reception.
A very quiet, friendly, relaxed peaceful atmosphere. The waterfalls is an easy and beautiful walk after a heavy rain. Kayakers can be observed on the ashley River. Next time I want to have a go at kayaking. I will definitely be back in the future. Couple running the place are friendly/helpful. They let me borrow a pots/pans

New ZealandThe accomoodation was a bit cramped for a family of 3 & wouldn't be ideal for rainy days. The people in the room next door were unfreindly & rude & the man in the room adjacent to ours could be heard snoring. The toilet / shower was clean but smelly - probably because of the neighbours. We knew the facilities were shared - it's not our usual preference but we were OK with it for a couple days. Booking.com were very diffcult to deal with, had little knowledge of the service they were promoting, didn't offer a refund & their web access, especially their "forgot password" function was terrible. I'll avoid using them in future. & wouldn't recommend them to anyone else.
The accommodation was small, but functional & clean & warm once the heater was turned on. The Ashley Gorge area is familar from childhood & has lots of happy memories. The facilities were up to my expectations, although my wife being foreign, expected more. The lady proprietor went to a lot of trouble to adjust our booking which was initially 2 days longer, and secure a refund although I didn't insist on her doing it. The proprietors made up for booking.com's numerous shortcomings & were good, solid kiwi people. The facilities were well priced.
