Didn't worry us as we had a hire care but Queenstown is mountain goat territory so do you homework on the walk or more so the altitude to get from street front to accommodation.

We self catered, so simple oats breakfast. Bed was very comfortable, water hot, view stupendous 24 hours. Cis an excellent host

Queenstown is very expensive.

Lovely lovely view; comfortable bed and nice complimentary items. The hill walk isn't that bad, so long as you are physically able.

Very quick walk into town yet just far enough away to avoid all the sound from the main road. Rooms were clean with an incredible view looking out across the town and the lake. Owner was extremely pleasant. There's also a few parking spots if requested in advance. Would highly recommend a stay here if you're coming to Queenstown!

The location and the amazing views come at a cost. Its a long climb up a steep hill not a problem for us. Would not be for everyone. If you have a car not a problem.

Breakfast was a large muffin and coffee. The location had a beautiful view, just a steep hill to walk up from town. Plenty of available taxis for approx $10.00.

Fantastic views from the room which was a wonderful sight to wake up to in the morning. At times we relaxed as we sat and watched the comings and goings of the various watercraft on the lake or the hang gliders drifting down from the sky lift. Cosy velour bath robes added a nice touch. Lovely garden with roses adding colour to the well maintained terraces. We walked into town which was downhill. Cab/ Uber were readily available to take us back to Balmoral Lodge. A car would have been handy but not essential. Cis was a great host and very welcoming!

It’s a steep walk up from town. As we are less mobile we took a taxi back. They were easy to hail and worth the modest fare.

Balmoral Lodge has outstanding views of the lake and mountains. The room was spacious and very comfortable. There is a comfy communal lounge overlooking the well kept gardens. Best of all were the people. So helpful and friendly. It was so much nicer than staying in a chain hotel.

The view from our room was priceless! To have coffee looking at the lake and downtown area was breathtaking. Could not have asked for a better place to end our month long trip of New Zealand. Cis and helper are so welcoming and easy to visit with!

Beautiful lodge up on the hill, able to walk to Queenstown centre, perfect location as quiet and amazing views of Queenstown. Enjoyed being able to use the lounge in evenings and take sunset photos and enjoy a drink and eats. Easy location for all our day trips.

The room was spacious, with a large comfortable bed, bathroom was very large and included a spa bath. The views from our room were incredible. Waking up to a view of the Remarkable Mountains and the Lake each morning and evening was memorable.

We had a great stat at Balmoral Lodge. The views can not possibly be any better. The room was spacious, with the comfortable beds, a small fridge and daily supply of some sweets, fresh milk and muffins. It was serviced daily. The host is very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay there again when we are in Queenstown.

The walk back up to the lodge was quite steep! But most of Queenstown is quite steep, and we actually came to enjoy the burn of the walks back up after indulging in so much food and drink during our stay!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Balmoral Lodge! It felt very comfortable and was much better than staying at a generic hotel. The bed was so comfortable and there was a lot of space in the room as well as a clothes and shoe rack, which was super handy to help us settle in. The muffins and choccies left everyday by Cis were a lovely gesture and much care was taken to prepare our room each day. Very homely vibe and sitting in the lounge or outside to soak up the view was another bonus! Cis was also happy to help with our washing and where to park our rental car. Would recommend Balmoral Lodge to anyone and would stay here again! Thank you!

Wonderfully positioned looking down Lake Wakatipu and benefitting from the very best of already magnificent sunsets over the mountains. Balmoral has everything you want for a relaxing stay in a quiet corner of the busy lively Queenstown

The B&B hotel is in a great location, with an unobstructed view of the beautiful scenery of Queenstown; the check-in experience is excellent, the landlady is very hospitable, provides free snacks and a variety of wines, and the wine is quite delicious; we are from China and cannot communicate with the landlady My wife communicates directly with words, and the two parties can only interact through body language. The landlady also helped me provide me with toothache medicine to relieve the pain. I am very grateful to the landlady. I will always remember this pleasant trip to Queenstown.
