Perhaps the window, it opens up to a shared ledge which “someone” might be able to get into our room while we were sleeping.

Didnt like anything specific but it was cleaner and newer facility than expected. We just needed a place to sleep and it was good enough.

The room was really small and had only the most basic facilites. No hairdryer, no tissues. We had to lift the standard fan off the bench to place case on it, then had no place to put the fan that was not in the way. There was a tiny desk and chair, but unusable as crammed in corner at end of bed. Hard to find place to put bags on floor where not in the way. Shame, because it looks like a really classy hotel but would not choose again.

The restaurant was great, enjoyed a meal there. Location very central. Clean, beds comfortable.

Room a tad smaller than other places we have stayed in and looked out over the road. They have other ocean view rooms which get booked very quickly!

Enjoyed the hotel, great location, no ocean view from the room but a short, easy walk to the shore. Hotel is right across from a large grocery store and all the downtown businesses. I wish we could have spent more time there.

The bed was extremely uncomfortable. It was like sleeping on a concrete floor. It also didn't help that the "king" bed was 2 x singles pushed together

Since last visit some time back it’s become a tour group specialist - so a bit soulless and doing things by rote.

Initially chosen for location - there’s not a lot of choice in town. It’s clean and functional.

Great central location, close to beach - you could hear the waves. We got a slight upgrade which gave us a view over the sea. We dined in the restuarant - good meal, friendly staff.

The Beachfront Hotel is ideally located in Hokitika. There were plenty of shops and restaurants within a short walk from the hotel. Our room was quite small but absolutely fine for our one night stay. The view was to the front of the hotel onto the street, so nothing to write home about, but ok. We ate at the restaurant at the hotel and the meal was excellent. Definitely worth a try. The back of the hotel leads onto the beach. It's a lovely location with some excellent views. The town itself is a charming place with lots of arts and craft shops, and a good choice of cafes and coffee stops. The staff at the hotel were courteous and helpful and overall, we enjoyed a our short stay.

Great venue, in a super location. Ocean view room was perfect. Hotel restaurant was worth eating in; we had dinner and breakfast, both were of a high standard.

VERY surprised that nobody on Reception until 10 am, your checking out time. A number of guests wanted to check their invoices , so could not. Also guests wanting to leave luggage as they were leaving Hokitika later in day, and NOBODY around!

Well appointed and comfortable room..better than the Crowne Plaza here in ChCh!

Stayed for just the one night, location of the property is phenomenal and the staff both at the reception desk and at their restaurant were friendly and professional.
