Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere wasn't a lot that we didn't like about this room! We really appreciated how quiet it was as it wasn't on a main road. If I was nitpicking the only thing that could be missing would be air conditioning but due to the normal weather temps in Queenstown, I didn't feel we suffered from not having it haha. Additionally, we were provided with a fan.
My partner and I opted for this hotel on our trip to Queenstown as it was more of a self-contained unit than what we were seeing in a lot of the other hotel options online and we're very happy that we did. This little apartment we had was snug, but very comfortable. There were two armchairs, a table, our beds and a small kitchen in the corner for you to use, including a fridge (however no cooking facilities.) The bathroom was sizable, and there was a very nice shower that we really appreciated especially after all the day's activities in town. It also had a nice view over the next-door school field, and onto the mountain which was lovely in the evening just to watch the sunset. There were also laundry cleaning options if required, and the internet was great. Would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a bit more of a self-contained style of accom.

New ZealandWe had the most giant of rental vehicles and parking was a bit tight, especially when it was full in the evening.
So close to town and connecting units were perfect for our family needs.

United KingdomThe kitchen. Pretty well stocked but microwave in a dangerous position. I am 5ft 4ins tall. I had to stretch high to us this or stand on a chair. Reaching up for cooked food could be a health and safty issue.
Location was good. Overall would stay again but possibly look for alterative.

New ZealandThe only thing that we wish could be improved was the bed. It was two single beds set beside each other to make a larger bed but because they're originally singles, there is a hard dip in the middle that was extremely uncomfortable to sleep on especially if you and your partner like being near each other.
We loved how everything is within walking distance of the motel. The skyline gondola is literally your neighbor. Shuttle pick-ups for tours and activities are also walking distance(5-7mins). The availability of coin-operated washer and dryer is also a plus especially if you're staying long and don't want to bring home dirty laundry. They are also very generous with towels and coffee/tea. You are also able to trust them with storing your luggage before/after you check in/out if you need somewhere to store them so you can go around the city.

SingaporeThe room was very tiny (which is OK for a shorter stay, however for a slightly longer stay I would reconsider).
Earlier check-in was made possible and the location is perfect - quiet and peaceful, with beautiful views, yet on walking distance to anything that might be of interest in Queenstown.

New ZealandUnfortunately the previous person in unit 20 had spilt something or had been sick as it smelt quite bad. We had to try and air out the room most of the time. The rooms were nice but a bit outdated. We changed the sign around for our rooms to be serviced on the second day, but this was not done. We found new towels etc in the laundry and changed our own.
The location of the motel is great for walking into town. The room was very tidy and clean when we arrived. Check in was easy as the key was left on the counter with my name on it. We had unit 19 and 20 which had a connecting door as we were a family of 4 adults. This was great as we could open the door to make the room feel bigger and the family as one.

New ZealandThere was nothing I didn’t like.
The motel was in great location, five minutes walk to town. Next to area where the tandem paragliders landed, fascinating. It was very quiet, no noise even from the adjoining rooms. The host was very helpful in advising us of supermarket close by and of Balls and Bangles cafe for breakfast or lunch. Great laundry facilities, which also had extra towels available and tea and coffee sachets if you had run out.
