Clean room with linen and bathroom. Value for money. Bradley on reception was very personable and helpful. Late checkin system worked very well for an after 9pm arrival. After checkout we could still store our luggage safely while we went out before the admission to our meeting in the afternoon. I would certainly stay again.

The room could not be locked from inside, and the shower was not warm enough despite running for 5 minutes.

Room was clean and bedding was clean. I checked-in late, they had provided exact instructions on how to get into the facility and access the keys. Loved the kitchen facility!

Private room bathroom was very small. Shower wasn't great and the extractor fan was loud as hell. Not great when you have an early start and don't wish to wake your neighbours

The bathrooms weren't great but they were clean. Lots of sodden bath mats left on the floor and pokey shower cubicles - the former will be from lazy hostel guests and I don't suppose they can do much about the small shower units.

The hostel is small and had a big kitchen with lots of dining area. The staff were really smiley and helpful and there was a very chilled vibe there. The beds were comfy but some rooms had more space for bags etc than ours which was narrow and a bother to move around in with more than 2 people.

Bathrooms really outdated, even for a hostel these days. Would also be nice to have curtains for the bunk beds.

One of the cheapest places to stay in Nelson, great location, late check in, small dorms. Beds were comfy

No soap in the shower, a big step getting in and out and not much to hold onto.

Just the super loud shower fan (we got the same room). Also rubbish found in shower that was missed during cleaning but it was gone when we returned 5 days later.

Comfortable, easy check in, were able to drop our heavy packs off early, and were able to leave a bag while away for the week.

Our bathroom had a shower you needed to step up into and there were issues with the sink not draining completely

Double room with private bathroom very tight to move around but a reasonable expectation for a back packers

The shower was very low and inside a bathtub, which is very dangerous and easier to fall.

We took a room for a couple, so it was private and comfortable.

No fly screens on the windows, and the rooms were quite warm (February). So, you have to decide between being hot or letting the mozzies in! Can be quite noisy if there are people in the courtyard and you need an early night.

Great location, close to the airport bus drop off and less than 10 mins to the bus pick up for the Heaphy bus. Rooms with private bathrooms are at the back of the property. Decent size room, bed ok. Would definitely recommend booking one of these, as the rooms with shared bathrooms are in the main building next to noisy dorm rooms. Great kitchen facilities. Laundry suited our needs in between hikes.

The room had a very strong smell. Walls are thin and it was very noisy at 6 am as some ignorant other travellers were talking very loudly

Not clean environment. Outdoor area verging on dilapidated, broken furniture and rough paths ( trip hazard) Gross inside fridge/freezers Sign said to run shower for 5mins before hot water comes through- this was so true. Rooms were dark and dingy. Sadly, this is a place I would not recommend to anyone but would serve a purpose if on a rock bottom, desperado budget.

Location was easily accessible to township. Dining area was clean. Bathroom was reas6clean.
