How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The shower curtain was pink from mould and the grout around the shower had the same pink mould.
Room was lovely and warm, comfy beds. Couldn't get TV to work but it was quite late by the time we got back so didn't ask for help. Shower powerful!

No Earl Grey tea bags. Shower over the bath.
The Sky TV channels was excellent. Could even record programmes. Really comfy chairs. Good bedding. Heat pump was great. Great location for restaurants.

The oven is dirty. No dishwashing liquid is provided in the kitchen. I think it is necessary because there is no dish washing machine.
The location is great! Just a few minutes from the coastal walkway and Wind Wand.

Office wasn’t always attended- had a blown lightbulb and went multiple times and it was unmanned. Not a big worry but was a little annoying as had to wait till next day when room was being cleaned to get it sorted.
Central to everything. Close to town and only about 20 minute walk to bowl of Brooklands were we were attending a concert

Nothing, it provided everything we needed.
The central location. We were in town to see the festival of lights. The motel was in easy walking distance to the lights and to the CBD.

The upstairs bedroom did not have air-con only a ceiling fan, it was a very hot day and night and family found it was exceptionally hot and uncomfortable sleeping up there!
Staff were friendly and very obliging. It was very clean It was close to the FOL which we attended

Nothing to dislike but watch your head on the unit above the sink when accessing the bin.
Helpful staff. Central location. Easy walking to cbd and restaurant choices. Have stayed before and will stay again.

Noisey, but expected as very central location. Fridge turned off at the wall, which we didn't discover until the morning. No extractor fan in bathroom or toilet.

Had not expected the room to overlook a busy road, however it was very quiet during the night. Our car was damaged overnight and staff seemed initially helpful saying they would check CCTV. At this point 6 days later I still have not heard from them

heat pump downstairs did not work on our first night, so room was a bit hot on first night, but it was fixed the next day which we appreciated a lot
comfortable layout of the room, good beds, very friendly staff, milk in the fridge (kids loved it), walking distance to main cultural and family attraction points (we walked to park to see Festival of Lights)

Some observations from our visit - not what we didn't like just what we noticed :) The room smelled like urine when we first arrived, opening windows and flushing the toilet seemed to make this go away :) The shower curtain was pink as the bottom from mould - I did mention this to the team at reception upon departure, the kitchen cupboard door needs to be looked at as it makes a loud creak each time you open/shut it. The bottom hinge on the right hand window in the lounge area does not open properly. Also the bed closest to the window upstairs was not comfortable, the person using this bed advised they felt like they were going to fall off each time they slept in it so they ended up sharing the larger bed. Also the air-con didn't seem to work properly, however we should have addressed this when we were there.
The location was perfect for us, close to the shops and amenities, FOL and the beach! Our minimal interaction with the team was great! The single bed downstairs was comfy as! The unit was clean and tidy,
