How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The parking was a scramble and no toilet paper on the first night. Other than that everything was absolutely beautiful and worth the stay.

Room was missing face cloths and no glassware. Kindly provided both when asked for them.
Spacious accomodation with good separate sleeping, one bedroom upstairs off the lounge and the other downstairs. Great large decks off one bedroom and the lounge. Fridge lovely and cold compared to other motels who seem to have them only just cool. Beds VERY comfortable! Great shower and spa bath. Nice staff.

The carpark is quite tight
The host was perfect really friendly and helpful. She made us feel right at home. If you stay at brylin you can get discounts on attractions in the area. I'd definitely stay again

It was very clean and comfortable with a large hot tub. I was satisfied with the compactness of the minimal features and the low price. It was nice to have salt and pepper, coffee, etc., as well as a small pack of milk. The staff were kind enough to answer my questions about where to go, as I needed to change my plans due to the rain.

One of the balcony doors don’t have a lock at all. Which means anyone could have just walked into the apartment - so we didn’t feel as safe. Cooking wise, it would be better if there’s a exhaust fan/ventilation right above the stove as the whole house is fumed even with light cooking

Excellent few days stay which is well within budget. Rooms were clean, cozy and quiet. We were upgraded for free to a 2-storey 2 bedroom apartment which had everything we needed. The spa was a bonus, and the staff accommodated our every needs. Location was right in the heart of the Polynesian spa, Skyline, Lake Tarawera and many food options. Sivilay Massage is right next door 1 min walk where I had an amazing deep tissue massage, and the best sleep. I will be back again and highly recommend to all.

It's modern, but also quite used and so certain parts need replacing, repairing and cleaning. Bathroom door handle area was rusty, the shower floor drain was not secured and came out then floated in the water as the the drainage didn't seem to be good - was blocked, and could see clumps of hair all over the carpet - perhaps a better vacuum cleaner should be used?, the stove top in the kitchen was quite worn and dirty.
The place looked exactly like the photos. Nice lovely lady over the phone when we called about our late check-in. Wasn't too sure where we were located, but as we had a car it didn't matter too much. A heater was turned on to help warm up the place, which was lovely. And an assortment of coupons for local attractions were left in the kitchen floor for us to use.

Water wasn’t working in the morning due to council but the staff were so nice they let us check out a bit later once the water came back on which was great
Wow it was super clean inside and out, really gorgeous set up and the interior colors work really well together it was really aesthetic and the 2 balconies was just so amazing. The hot tub was great too! Bed comfortable and good Netflix / YouTube selection on smart tv. Staff nice as too
