How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The air conditioning filter was extremely dirty. Smaller bed wasn’t very comfortable. Online, room seemed to have a hot plate and it didn’t. The paintwork could do with touching up but as long as things are clean I don’t mind that. There was a bit of mould. I think it was on sealant on part of the top edge of the bath, where it looks like a whole had been covered over. A downstairs room would have been easier with carrying bags around but I hadn’t asked for a downstairs room as I didn’t know the set up. Staff helped with everything we needed but were not particularly friendly or chatty.

I didnt like washing my dishes in the bathroom and there should be water available in the rooms for drinking and filling up the jug.I will upgrade to a room with a kitchen next time.The laundry wasnt open to do our washing when it should be at all times.
Excellent location as it is close to airport,Manukau City and motorway as well as attractions.The beds were comfortable and a good variety of channels on tv.Very clean and comfortable.

Even though we payed the same amount of money for our second room as we did for our first room we were disappointed with the kitchenette in our second room. Very small, no sink - had to wash the cutlery and crockery in the bathroom sink - very unhygienic, also no toaster. We were told by staff to use our friends toaster, our friends were staying in another room. Very inconvenient and lucky we had friends staying at the same motel otherwise we wouldn’t have had the use of a toaster. Also unable to use the guest laundry before 1pm, even than found it different to use as a lady was using it to wash and dry motel towels, tea towels etc.
On our holiday around the north island of NZ we stayed at this motel twice. Motel room was very clean, roomy and bed comfortable. Bathrooms in both rooms lovely, very large and had been recently renovated. Kitchen in our first room was great, good size, fully equipped, had everything we needed. Very friendly staff and cleaners. Nice and tidy gardens.

Room had a wee bit of an odd odour but didn't notice it after awhile. Shower didn't drain very well and we accidentally flooded the bathroom but motelier committed to checking it out.
Very friendly and welcoming check-in. Beautiful bathroom-very modern. Large room, well equipped kitchen, decent sized TV, effective air con. Close to airport....aprox 10-15 minute drive. Very handy to Westfield Manukau and Rainbows End.

A small toaster would have been nice. But you made it easy to have my morning toast in your kitchen. I had no problem with parking and access to my room was very easy. My thanks to you all and I will have no problem coming again.

Comfortable beds. Good facilities. Updated new bathroom. Excellent location 10 mins to airport and 5 from Manukau City Centre. Quiet rooms, good free WiFi. Stayed here a few times. Always my “go to” when staying in Auckland. Good safe parking inside the security cameras.
