The was our favorite stay in New Zealand. We highly recommend this place. Also, try the restaurant/bar. Amazing historical place. We loved the atmosphere. I absolutely recommend this place!

We loved the coziness of this hotel… the staff were very welcoming . The room was very comfortable, spacious, and very clean . We had the most delicious meal in the evening . The fireplace is such a bonus 👍

The only disappointing thing was that they seemed very short on the menu choices, as they were out of alot of food, and for our stay there was no English breakfast tea, only herbal. But this is minor, it certainly wouldn't put me off staying. The restaurant was pretty busy whenever we ate there.

The hotel and the surrounding area are lovely and full of history and character. The gardens are beautiful and it was lovely to sit beside a roaring fire with a glass of wine. The bedroom was charming, with a beautiful garden view, the beds were comfy and the bathroom was quaint with a fantastic shower. All the staff members we encountered were welcoming and friendly.

Honestly, there was nothing we didn't like!

Lovely clean room with a super comfortable bed. Very easy to access the restaurant and bar from where the rooms were located. Staff were super friendly and very helpful. Food at the onsite restaurant absolutely delicious! Highly recommend staying here if you are in the area! Lovely outdoor fire which was a great place to sit and enjoy a drink and relax.

I did find the room a little bit on the smaller side. And because the shower pressure was so strong, it does get the bathroom floor a bit flooded everytime you take a shower.

Clean, comfortable bed. Friendly staff. There is bar and restaurant right next door with great ambience. The hotel is quite rustic and full of character. Excellent internet connection. Strong water pressure in the shower. And while its located right along the Cardrona-Wanaka road, the traffic I noticed is greatly reduced after about 8pm and doesn't pick up again until about 6/0630am. This didn't interfere with my sleep at all.

Great night in this fun hotel - nice room and bathroom, restaurant and bar were great with great food and wine and open fires. The outside fire area is also great. Just did the one night but would definitely come back for a repeat visit. Staff were also very friendly

Classic hotel in a wonderful setting and your staff are the best. Loved the rooms. Restaurant meal was excellent and we enjoyed drinks in front of the fire after. Perfect.

I wasn’t able to stay longer !!!

A unique welcoming little hotel seeped in history but modernised for the comfort of contemporary travellers. The facilities are perfect, the staff are professional yet amazingly friendly and attentive. The food was more than excellent and the stay was perfect. The whole place was more than value for money. I have never written such a positive review! This place is not only recommended, it’s a “must experience” for anyone visiting the area. I wish every booking was as excellent as this.

Fantastic outdoor garden area where you could eat or drink, with an amazing outdoor fireplace. Attractive day and night. Excellent high class / quality food in the restaurant which had a hunting lodge feel to it. Cute clean and relatively new accommodation with an old world, colonial / early settler feel to it.
