How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The pillows were too hard for us.
The location was perfect, just a short stroll to the waterfront and to town. The staff made us feel very welcome on check-in. The lounge (with a lolly bar and happy hour) was a really lovely touch.

The rooms are a little dark (walls are painted in dark colours and the lighting options at night are a bit dim to read a book by)
Great location, close to the lake and shopping and eating precinct . Good sized rooms The evening happy hour at 5pm is a nice touch, but you have to be punctual to grab one of the limited bottles of beer! In room minibar has free soda drinks. Breakfast is generous continental, nice choice of sweet or savoury pastries. Parking on site if you are lucky

Lugging my bags down and up the short flight of stairs to my room. Not a major, just awkward. The washing machine. Wanted to do a quick short wash but ended up spending a few hours having to adjust, re-spin, re-set the machine and then manually wringing the clothes. Again, not a major just time-wasting. On the plus side the assistance offered by the lone staff member was appreciated.
Location was excellent, very short walk into town, the gardens, and many good cafes & restaurants. Room was large, very well furnished and laid out. Especially enjoyed the thoughtful details like the comp mini bar, extra bathroom amenities, excellent TV and wi-fi reception. Very clean & great service by housekeeping. The hotel lounge was also very pleasant and again included nice touches like the candy bar and extra tea services. Wanted to but couldn't attend the happy hour.

Bathroom is outdated and shower pressure not good. A bit more lighting at the entrance of the room and bathroom would be good.
Great location up the hill from the centre (5 min walk). Parking spaces are limited but on street free parking available. Rooms are good sized and super quirky and nicely decorated. Very comfy bed and free bottle of wine on arrival. Complementary snacks everyday from 5-6pm with wine/beer for your choosing.

Having advertised in the room the option of paying for a later check out until 12pm but not willing to accommodate that. May want to change the wording of it in the room as not being readily available, but that it is at the staffs discretion instead. Although they were nice enough to let us leave our luggage there after checking out until we were ready to leave for the airport.
Cosy & Quiet, Very Clean! Having complimentary drinks & snacks was great.

As a couple who like to be able to walk into town for dinner and shopping, this location was perfect. We only used the car for bigger day trips, and despite there being limited parking at the hotel, we always managed to get a parking spot. The junior suite was so spacious and it was great not to feel like we were staying in a hotel with our suitcases piled up around us. The staff were so friendly and helpful and made us feel really welcome.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Location is wonderful and makes it very easy to get around. Staff are so friendly and so helpful at all times. Room was very clean and comfortable and the complimentary happy hour was amazing. Lots of small touches which make it an extra special stay.

Beautiful little hotel, wonderfully decorated and extremely clean. Centrally located so very convenient even if you don’t hire a car. Staff very friendly and professional. We did our check in with Alex - he was super helpful and welcoming. Thank you all for the experience

Great location, great staff. Super cool snack bar that you can visit day or night - and it’s free! Really great breakfast selection also. Great rooms, love that the in room snack bar is free also.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Very unusual and stylish hotel room...quirky design, spacious, very very comfortable bed and pillows. Great location less than 5 minutes walk from the centre . I left some photos in the room and they emailed me within a very short time arranging to return them to me.

Very comfortable beds. Good breakfast. Walking distance to the shops, and restaurants. Happy hour in the afternoon and a lolly bar is a really nice touch with access to plunge coffee cheese and a nice lounge any time..

We loved everything.
The look and styling of the hotel is amazing, unique and luxurious. Our room was huge and had a great view with a small balcony. The bathroom products are divine as were the complimentary snacks and mini bar. Afternoon happy hour is amazing as is the sweets station. The staff were incredibly friendly and the hotel is within walking distance of town and all the restaurants.
