How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Price - was a hotel price. Furniture was adequate but a little old for the price of the place - $400 a night.

Apartment two had large dried dog poo on balcony. Bed and bathroom clean, but all other surfaces covered in thin layer of dust. Just needed a bit of TLC.
Sunny, solid furniture, comfy bed. Great accessible bathroom.

There are windows in the room (up high) which do not have a curtain or blind across them - that meant the room was bright as soon as the sun came up which was super disappointing when you go away and want to have a sleep-in. We were also only provided 1, already started, toilet roll for a two night stay for two people. That felt pretty cheap in terms of value for money when you’re paying these type of prices.
Good location and clean. Good communication beforehand.

There’s a high window with no curtain, and just blinds on all the windows so you get light streaming in early, not great for a long sleep in so bring your eye mask!!
Only an 800m walk from oneroa and just a 300m walk to cable bay for dinner. Views were lovely from thr little deck, (a little distant view of the water but still nice). Clean, tidy little studio with everything you need for 1-2 nights.

We arrived at the property an hour or so after check in to find the bed unmade, and all the used sheets and towels on the floor of the bathroom. I rang Dave and advised and he organised cleaners to return to the room to sort.

there were a steam of ants coming down from the room. all good had to be put in the fridge.
great view that is seen from all viewpoints in the apartment. Modern, clean snd comfortable apart from the ants.

We went herr during summer and rain day so many mosquitoes. Water should me management.
Quiet place to relax and really close to popular vineyard. Small but clean and cozy mood. Big mirror and air condition Very good wifi!!

No real issues at all. Could have done with more glasses, the only glasses were two champagne flutes, not ideal for drinking fabulous Waiheke reds out of, but it's a minor quibble.
Great location, super easy to get into town and to the ferry. Awesome view and very comfy bed.

the bed was two singles put together both beds didn’t line up and was unfortunately uncomfortable. one of the single mattresses was very uncomfortable which was disappointing.

We ran out of milk after the first morning. Room was not serviced, would have been nice for that to have been checked/replaced, though, for the price point.
Location was excellent and room was decorated beautifully and was comfortably appointed. Fabulous view! Very easy to access, host provided great instructions and local information that was very helpful

Ideally it would have been nice to have an extra set of towels for a two night stay.
Well located and able to walk to the center of Oneroa and to Cable Bay Vineyard. Room had good amenities and a pleasant view over to the Bay. Owner provided good communication throughout.
