The cottage that had not been updated, was a disappointment for the couple who stayed in that one. Packed Lunches were very expensive.

Amazing location on the waterfront. We were in 3 of Cook's Cottages. 2 of the 3 had been renovated, the 3rd was not yet done. Self contained with cooking, refrigerator and ensuite sized bathroom. Very clean and crisp linens. Sadly the weather wasn't good, but dinner in the bar by the fire with good company more than made up for it. Staff were great. Very pleasant place to stay while walking the Queen Charlotte Track

We loved everything but the food. We could tell they were trying their best in this space, and COVID, staffing etc impacts things, but it was just underwhelming and not as described (menu v reality). If you have any dietaries other than vegetarian I'd suggest doing what we did and bringing some snacks, breakfast items etc with you just in case. For example, I ordered breakfast on Saturday morning of muesli as it was indicated as being gluten free. It wasn't, so I had to choose something else from a very limited gf selection and could only really get a cooked breakfast...which came out on rye toast. I wouldn't have minded so much if I hadn't of signalled it on our booking. I understand there's only so much that can be done to cater to these but I felt like a burden. We both agreed that we would've run out of options if we had stayed any longer than two nights.

Loved our room, very comfortable and quiet. The surroundings are absolutely stunning! We loved having a small fridge available in our room, as well a bottle opener and glasses to enjoy a special bottle of wine that we bought with us as we were celebrating an anniversary. Had some excellent drinks at the bar, enjoyed on the verandah as we were lucky enough to have stunning weather. We got to enjoy parts of the Queen Charlotte track, definitely recommend that even if you just walk a bit of it! The staff were all very friendly and helpful - particular kudos to our barman Friday night for a great negroni, and the women working Saturday night dinner after already doing some long days. You all worked so hard to keep things ticking along and we appreciated it :)

meal quite disappointing. The meal served didn’t reflect the meal on the menu apart from the main item. the waiter addressed all comments to me and didn’t engage my wife in the discussion even though she had views on food and wine. wifi erratic.

Loved everything about this place - staff were amazing, friendly and could not do enough to ensure our stay was memorable. Location is stunning, spa was warm and clear, menu is delicious and outdoor settings just lovely.

Not a biggie but the menu at the resteraunt was a little standard. We felt it could do with offering a few more exciting options given the location and the fact it was the only place to eat.

The location and room were beautiful. Staff were very friendly and happy to facilitate an early check in.

The service from the time we arrived to the minute we left was amazing. The bed was super comfortable and loved the use of the free kayaks and standup paddleboards. Great food and such a special location. We loved all the walks through the Queen Charlotte sounds and can't wait to come back and stay again soon

Limited food options. Beautiful food, but no cafe style options ie toast or bagels or cheaper, lighter menu options.

Location was beautiful, well appointed accommodation, at various price points. Spa was lovely. Beautiful walking tracks. Beds super comfy. Staff were lovely.

Loved the food and the service was great. The beautiful sea and bush surroundings plus the bonus of the Queen Charlotte walkway makes for a very peaceful, relaxing and rejuvenating holiday. We loved it.
