Sarah was very friendly, and even offered us complimentary fruits and treats as well as homemade cookies on our way out. The shared bathroom was clean, the room was comfy with access to a nice outdoor space. There was a living space with TV, a kettle, a toaster and a microwave as well as a fridge. Dishes to use, which is always nice. Would strongly recommend.

Sarah was very friendly and kind. the room was clean and cozy. it was my first trip to North and had a good relaxing time after lond hours drive. bakery,take away and restaurant was close by in a walk distance. I enjoyed the neflex in a comfy bed. I will be back if I travel to the far north again.

I was really pleased to find this gem on booking.com. Don’t know Kaitaia at all so wasn’t keen to stay in an impersonal hotel. It’s in a great central location with off street parking and is well appointed with plenty of amenities. I arrived late on a chilly evening and it was lovely climbing into a warm bed (electric blanket). I travelled for work and would definitely like to stay here again. I didn’t use the free wifi.

Lack of sun made the room feel a little damp but heatpump soon made feel cosy.

Nothing. In fact, nothing needs to change. Everything is just perfect from level of accommodation, unbeatable pricing, fantastically thoughtful and approachable hosts and the superb location. It's quiet, restful and just a little gem of northland.

Breakfast supply was excellent. To be honest, this BnB was not what I was expecting but in fact, that made it so much better. Sarah and Neil are excellent hosts and the accommodation looked as if it was purpose built. WiFi and Netflix supplied as was everything we needed for meal making (even a library with books and magazines) and the thoughtful emergency supplies in the bathroom are a lovely touch. Shower is great and room is warm and cosy.

Nothing to fault

It really felt like home away from home for us. Super cosy. The kitchen was so well stocked with so many appliances and kitchen utensils which was so much more than we expected. A great stay to relax and recover after going to Cape Reinga the day before.

It was great , easy access in and out very quiet as you are in a dead end street, has all the amenities needed for a good stay. Also has a lot of toiletries and stuff for everyone on offer. also very clean too.

Nothing really. A little distance from town but a minor point.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gateway to the Far North. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Sarah was very helpful, and offered suggestions of what to do whilst we were in the area. The snacks provided were a yummy unexpected bonus!
