Venturing out at night when we first got there, the lighting on the property was not so good and it took us a while to realize there was a very nice path. The path was towards the edge/cliff going down to the river, so we were reluctant to go that direction, but in the daylight it was perfectly clear and not a problem afterwards.

The hotel was far nicer than I expected for the price. The decor was great, the room was large and very equipped. The location was perfect being just across the street from everything in the main part of town, including shops and sights.

We were upgraded to a room overlooking the lake. Breathtaking views! The room was spacious, underfloor heating in the bathroom, and heated towel rails. Bed was comfortable. We stayed just 1 night, but it was memorable - thank you 😊

The location was great and the rooms were very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The beds were amazing. We also appreciated the laundry room where we could wash our clothes for a small fee. The hosts/managers of the place were very helpful and fun.

It was too crowded - happened to be Chinese New Year so all the sites were overrun with crowds! (Obviously, not the fault of the hotel)

Room was very large, good quality furnishings, and included a kitchenette and dining area. We only stayed one night so didn't make full use of facilities. Location is walking distance from the town center across the street, and the main tourist hiking areas. The room had a balcony which was good for viewing the night sky, though the best visibility was after midnight. Hotel owners were accessible and helpful.

This is the 2nd time we stayed at this motel. we had a really good experience last year; therefore, we brought our parents this time. The location is very convenient, only walking distance to The Church of the Good Shepherd. we stayed at two bedrooms apartment on upper floor which have very beautiful view, and the lift is great for my parents who are not very good for walking though the staircase. And Dave & Sue and their team are very friendly, Sue told us where to eat and local events. Within the facility, the kitchen is very tidy & clean, everything is thoughtful, they even have a rice cooker. Bathroom is good size and clean, also they provide body lotion as the South Island is quite dry. Overall, we will recommend this motel to our friends.

I don't know if it was just us or it's a NZ thing but if you arrive before 2 pm they are not happy campers and they weren't the lone rangers in this!

The rooms were wonderful. Large with TV, sofa, great bed, good kitchen facilities, and lovely continental breakfast. The bathroom was up there for space, a shower, and the cabinet (you could put your toiletries out). The view of the lake was good and it was nice and close to the town. The staff were very helpful and were happy to give you advise on things to do in town.

I felt sorry for the people living in the house that was secluded and barricaded off behind the complex. I guess the big promotion industry in New Zealand doesn't care about them much. I hope they were compensated for loosing their view of the lake.

It was very clean, comfortable and close to the town center. The caretakers were extremely friendly.

Nothing that is wrong with the accommodation, but maybe something to add to the guest info. If you hear a siren, it means the local Damn is opening or a call to arms for the volunteer fire, ambulance or police staff. That’s more of a small town NZ thing rather than Lake Tekapo but good to add to the guest info.

The amazing view from room 24😍, absolutely stunning. Love having a kitchen in our studio, and the balcony was my favourite part. My husband and I gazed at the stars from this spacious balcony from a comfy sofa. Perfect Getaway!
