The double room was small but it's a hostel so for one or two nights it's fine.

Very nice staff. The guys were very helpful. The lounge was spacious and beautiful.

Nothing to dislike really, room was basic with only a very high window but was fine for sleeping in and the large lounge with Bay views was available if you needed it.

Great position for a one night stay to do a Bay of Islands trip. Communal lounge and kitchen had spectacular views. Staff very helpful. Room basic but all you needed for a night's sleep. Useful laundry facilities available.

Lots of restricted parking in Paihia so it's difficult to find free parking - the staff were helpful in directing us to an area to park

Lovely, warm, friendly and helpful staff. Extremely clean. The living area (kitchen/dining/lounge) is really comfortable and has a beautiful view across the bay. The kitchen was well equipped and maintained. My room was a good size, comfy and quiet - had a great night’s sleep. Location is great too.

The fact there was no onsite parking or mention of it at time of booking. Also, the noise from the laundry next door as we were in room 8. Also, it took a while to figure out what a fob was as in instructions for returning after 9pm. Probably would've been good to have had it explained at check-in along with how to put key in box when checking out as the box with code pad threw me off not realising to just lift the lid :/

Great location opposite the Paihia Wharf. Nice staff, and beautiful view from the common rooms on the bay. I booked the private room which was pretty basic (as expected) but sufficient for our 2 night stay. The bed was, however, very comfortable.

The quality of the stay kinds depends on the ppl you'll be bunk with. We stuck with someone made a lot of noise throughout the night and early morning and had no respect of other ppl by making huge door sound on closing it.

Stayed here a couple of time and also a wonderful stay with the staff and facility. And not to mentioned a spectacular view towards the beach.

We had a twin en suite room and it was super stuffy. There was no window that could be opened and there didn’t seem to be any ventilation in the room. We slept with our door open; however, then the hall light shine in all night long. The common area was really hot and airless. The first night we were there. I think the air-conditioning was finally turned on the second night.

Location was perfect, on the main beach road just opposite the pier where the ferry to Russell departs. The views from the common area were spectacular! The staff were friendly and approachable.

In our room, some beds didn't have lights, some power points not working. Some beds didn't have small fans. My bed was lumpy. Said tea and coffee available but there was none due to a coffee machine having been ordered. Should have had instant on hand until the machine was installed

The rooms are not really big and the windows cannot be opened which makes them very warm and stuffy. Moreover, especially room number 13 was really small so that only one person could stand in it at a time.

The hostel was very clean in general, the kitchen was well equipped and the views are stunning!

The prices are getting too expensive! And the fridge was pretty small for the amount of people.

The location is perfect, right in front of the bay with a gorgeous view! Staff very friendly and helpful with local tips and activities. Beds are like "pods", so you've your little space too!

As others have said, the rooms are very hot. I had to leave the door open for a while each evening to be able to sleep. Air conditioning is needed, but I think plans are already underway

No air conditioning in rooms. Hot and stuffy. With windows open and fan going it was ok. Although quite noisy from the restaurants and bars below. Room price was high for a backpackers (especially for a basic room without air con), but it was a holiday weekend.

Very lovely and helpful staff. Brilliant living area, dining and kitchen. Great communication and check in/ out procedure. Very kindly allowed keeping (clean) bicycles in our room.

Top bunks crammed slightly and lockers weren’t separated from each other meaning I could reach into person’s beside me.

Central location, kitchen very well equipped and regular clean outs of fridge done so lots of space for your items. You could see staff cleaning bathrooms thoroughly in morning.

The 4 bed dorm was very small. Haka tours stop there, so you can expect a large group of people to pour into the hostel in the evening, occupying most of the common areas.

Comfortable sturdy beds with privacy curtains and electric outlets. Big, well equipped kitchen. Clean bathrooms. Great location just across the street from the marina.
