We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

New ZealandThey arranged a van to pick us up and drop us off with luggage which was great. The location was excellent just a short uphill walk from the wharf and main little town so it was easy to get around. The room was nice surrounded by nice gardens.

The plush beds were a welcome sight once we returned from the great walk as was the fantastic water pressure in the shower! Vicki made check-in seamless and the room was very spacious. Backing onto native bush also added to the tranquility of the accommodation.

New Zealandthere was a motor of some sort cutting in and out that i could hear at night but it was not very loud. probably a pump or something. this was a very minor dislike.
the pick up from the Flight depot and location of premises great. so quiet and peaceful. the Kaka didnt appear but a kiwi appeared outside the front gate early in the morning. The bed was comfortable and the shower good.

True southern hospitality shown to us! Our bags were collected at the ferry and taken to our unit so we could get to our tour on time. Kaka Retreat was wonderful and we even had a Kaka land a arms length from us at the unit.

New ZealandAs we only booked a couple of weeks prior to arrival, the room selection was limited and a little more expensive than we wanted. As there were two double beds it would be a good option for two couples to share.
Staff provided a complimentary transfer from the ferry to Kaka Retreat which was wonderful. They also helped us arrange a taxi to the start of the Rakiura Track the following day. Our spacious room was surrounded by native bush and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony listening to the birds.

United StatesSince the place is nestled in the jungle, there were definitely signs of some bugs here and there along with spider webs. But this seems normal based on our stay in multiple properties throughout NZ. I think part of being in nature means co existing with them.
We were picked up at the ferry by the property managers, a man named Lindsey and I believe his wife. They were incredibly friendly and helpful. Did not expect this service so it was a wonderful surprise. Lindsey drove us through the town to give us a tour and tips on food/drink. He also picked us up to drop us off at the ferry when we left which was helpful because of our luggage. The property itself was beautiful, nested in the jungle. The bathrooms were nice and everything felt updated. Beds were comfy for us. The rooms were incredibly spacious as well.
