Shower took awhile to heat up but due to winter and a frost the pipes would be cold. Pressure not great but at least it was hot and shower gel available to use. So overall pretty good really - nothing major to complain about really

Good location - close to Hokitika and not far to travel to the Lake or other sightseeing places in the region. Good value for a basic room wth heating and a warm bed. Shared bathroom just next door and a good shared kitchen with everything available you would need. Shared lounge with Freeview TV, books, games and free fruit if you wanted something Bar meals available in the pub if you wanted one and friendly locals to have a beer with

Friendly staff. Easy to find, with plenty of parking, in a good NZ country pub. The Sunday roast was delicious! Comfy bed. Basic but good facilities - tea, coffee, milo, a TV room.

Going downstairs to the bathroom but extremely clean, so only a slight inconvenience.

Spotlessly clean, good facilities and value for money. Meals at the hotel were excellent and very reasonably priced.

Being right beside the bathroom…didn’t enjoy the sound effects when others using the toilet!! Thin walls :( The single bed seemed a rather small one -no room to stretch out. I’m not tall so would be a challenge for a tall person!

Nice quiet location. Easy to find. Cute old pub. Friendly owners. Good off street parking. Very clean and nice room. Kitchen very well set up, good facilities.

Being an old building has the usual up and down floor and the room was under repair.

Being able to get a really nice meal on site was a great bonus.. The room was tidy and clean, really friendly place to dtay.

Nothing - it was a nice stay.

This place was a really pleasant surprise. I booked it fairly late in the day and just thought it would do for a night to rest our heads along our journey. From the exterior it looks a bit washed out and run down and I was dubious about it being a pub as well. However the first impressions were wrong! The accommodation pet of this place is actually super comfy and nicely furnished, with refurbishment works going on in some parts as well. It was very clean and our host accommodated us checking in a little late and took the time to show us around.

Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Kitchen available and complimentary tea/coffee. Good location with plenty to do at short distance, but ideally you’d need a car or bicycle to move around. Good hearty meals and company at the pub, great option for a meal in case of bad weather or if you don’t want to go to Hokitika.

One of the showers seemed to just run cold water early in the morning - the other one was fine, maybe the tank had run out of hot water from people using it?

Rooms are located on the other side of the hotel/bar so are noise free from that part of the hotel. The room is small but a good size for a single person with a comfy bed with plenty of blankets, a dresser, chair & a heater to keep you warm. Shared bathroom close by with hot shower and toilets. Shared kitchen with a fridge, and cooking facilities available if you want to cook your own meals. Coffee, tea etc... including milk is free to use. Plently of meal options available to purchase from the bar. Friendly staff and locals from the Kaniere area.
