Despite being in Auckland City, many, North Shore, KawaiPurapura is located in a quiet, forest like setting and I enjoyed the daily free yoga classes. I will certainly be returning.

Would have liked to have a women only bathroom option available to feel more comfortable. If there was one I missed it 😊. The camp kitchen available for guests is a bit small, not able to cook more that one meal at the time, all good if you are flexible and not in a rush but a little restrictive when you are part of retreat and are time restricted.

Enjoyed the lush forest that surrounds the space and makes you forget your are near a big city, and access to the non chlorinated pool (Lovely to have a body of water you can immerse yourself into).

No little fridge or anywhere to store food or milk while I was there. Main house was locked until I checked out which was 10am

Free yoga, hot tub and sauna. A bit run down but still did the trick :)

Poor outside lighting. Have complained about this before. Going down steps to lower floor, Needs strips which glow in the dark. No breakfast!

There was no hot water in the bathrooms for over 12 hours. Not enough car parking. Our room got quite damp over night, I.e. the wooden floor was damp.

    Beautiful location, nice staff.

The Queen room was lovely and comfortable. The shower was attached to my room and was large inside - fairly clean. The staff are really kind and friendly. The yoga classes I went to had great facilitators. I found Kawai Purapura a calming place to stay and the grounds are peaceful and amazing.

The guest kitchen was tiny and not very clean and the volunteer and resident kitchens were separated and looked beautiful and comfortable which made the guest kitchen look very sad. My room was very damp downstairs next to the rock wall, all my clothes and bags were damp when I left.

    The grounds were beautiful.

Showers and toilets need renovating, one shower handle couldn't even be hung to the wall..hard to shampoo yourself! Very humid downstairs. Kitchen very small. I had to ask for hangers (there's a wee rail), and I got them! I stayed 4 nights (no discount, no extra service was given, not even a fresh towel when I requested one. Towel was very old, worn and stained. I could hear someone snoring (I had 3 neighbours), a different person, two nights in a row. Walls are brick and thin!

Very quiet, couldn't hear the road. Green, lots of green spaces.

I wouldnt go back to this retreat due to the bathroom amenities. There is only one toilet and one shower for everyone to share and its is a long way from the bedrooms. The swimming pool facility would have been great if the water wasnt green and filled with floating crud - I went in once and came out smelling like I had been in a bog. if it was clean this facility would have been a game changer,

The price and the native bush surroundings.

The curtains didn't cover the window, which faced out onto a main walkway for the accomodation block, so no privacy while in bed and had to wear pajamas. This appeared to be the only room in the block with this issue. Room was small and also volcanically hot - had to run the fan all night and it basically just moved hot air around. On the other hand couldn't open door or windiw because of the bugs.

Private bathroom and shower. Fridge and microwave. Fan. Late check in possible. Fantastic swimming pool, sauna and spa.

Shared shower and drain was clogged. Shower fixtures in poor repair.

Lovely big room in shared house. Lockable door to room. Little clothes rack and both double and single beds. Good curtains. Care was clearly taken to present a comfortable restful room. Swimming pool was great! The place is located really close to supermarket, shops, take-out, motorway on ramp. Price point makes this a fantastic accomodation option in wellington.

At check in we were told towels would be left in the room when we checked in later. They weren’t, and because we went to an event and came back in the night, there was no one around to grab towels from. Room K15 needs the lock fixed. Two females stayed in this room and we weren’t able to lock the door from the inside. Felt unsafe.

Close to the stadium and shopping area. Walking distance. We were able to use facilities to get ready before check in. Free on-site parking. Wifi because there’s no mobile reception.

Well on my 2nd day, I found out the place I was staying had its water off since 5pm, so couldn't use the bathroom at all unless you use another house or the toilet by the pool. Couldn't contact anyone till after 9am but I left by then

Quiet and you don't hear alot of traffic, lovely sounds of nature and very friendly people staying there. It's worth the money. Also having a car is very useful, public transport is limited.
