Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesParking exit/entry was a bit confusing at first and no access to the inside from the lower level, has to walk around to the front door. Maybe some modern locks can be installed? Carpets in hallways are a bit tired, dark carpet in the room, peeling paint on the outside balcony. None of it was a real issue though and didn’t bother us overall for this stay, but just to say that if updated the property will really shine.
Nice views of the lake and mountains, big room, comfortable bed. Nice welcoming reception. We booked very last minute, so it was pricey, but not too bad for QT. We didn’t use any facilities or the bar so can’t comment. Parking was free and seemed to have sufficient number of spots.

AustraliaA bit expensive for what you get, but Queenstown seems to be expensive.
Location wasn't right in town centre and currently has road works out the front, but is an easy walk (a little tough coming back up some of the steep hills). Is also buses available across the road. Parking in the town centre is expensive, unless you wait until after 6pm.

AustraliaThe room and facilities are dated. Shower over bath straight out of the 1980’s. Was expensive per night relative to other options but was available when we needed. No cooking in room. Had to ask for a fan. As a room, it was workable but expected more for the price.
Location and friendly, helpful staff. Nice view of Remarkables

United KingdomNoise from the very busy main road to the front of the hotel - which also had extensive roadworks.
Reasonable location, overlooking the lake (main road in between) and 15 minute walk to central areas. Room was huge and had a balcony.

GuernseyEasily confused with the other hotel with almost the same name along the road. Limited food options available if you arrive late.
Great first stop from airport after long trip. Easy parking (although a little hard to find). It’s a 20 minute downhill walk to all the shops and restaurants in Queenstown.

AustraliaThe TV in the master bedroom didn't work very well and couldn't be turned off with the remote. There was construction work outside which closed the footpath however that wasn't really a problem.
The room was fantastic for a family of four having two spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms and toilets. It was roomy and comfortable and the view was amazing. It was pretty noise proof given guests either side and being on a busy road. We also loved the beds and pillows. They were the most comfortable of all of our stays over two weeks and I want to buy the same pillows as they were so good!

United StatesThe parking area for the hotel is a little too small.
The room was very large. It was really nice and well equipped. The room had a large patio with a view of the lake. The patio is far larger than most hotels. It had room for a table and chairs and still plenty of additional space. The hotel is easy to find right on the main road into town. It is walking distance to downtown, which we did several times a day. However, it is a fairly long walk without much to see until the downtown area.

New ZealandThe roadworks make the surroundings currently unattractive. The road is very noisy. Didn't like having a room on the ground floor.

New ZealandVery old style especially toilets and fittings.
The staff were too good and friendly is the main highlight. Location and view from the apartment is amazing. It’s bit of an old fashioned one hence don’t think the pricing is worth that.

New ZealandThe bar that evening would have been nice but not essential to the trip.
Excellent location, lovely staff! We were a couple with parents and a baby in a two bedroom. The views are to die for! Our experience here was great. Short walk into town. We play pool in the bar (unlicensed) and had an excellent breakfast one more (restaurant is only open for breakfast). Every staff member is absolutely lovely! We will be back.
