Better cooking pots. The handles got very hot and had to use a tea towel to hold them. Bedding. the linen was too light and cold (went in spring). a woollen blanket needed to be supplied. There was an option of a second duvet but it didnt really create warmth. There was an electric blanket, but i dont like them going all night. Even tho we didnt need it. Theres no aircon. So in summer im unsure how the house is cooled.

Great location, quick drive to the centre. You could walk, it would take around 20mins. The house was nice and spacious and had everything you needed. 2 carpark spaces and could fit more if needed. Quiet area.

It was cozy and warm, fireplace was wonderful on the cold windy nights. The surrounding trees offered a tranquil vibe with nature. Being close to the lake and and a short walk to the supermarket /park was a great convenience. It felt like we had everything we needed to relax and keep our family entertained.

The hot water tank was too small, and the heat was too slow, so there wasn't enough for the three of us to bathe.

In traditional New Zealand housing, the log cabin is very comfortable, the bed is not soft. The location is very good, very close to the church, 2 minutes walk. It is very convenient to shoot stars at night and walk to the central area to shoot. In addition, the terrace has a better effect on shooting stars.

Not really walking distance to shops, restaurants.

Original booking was not what we thought we were booking. However staff kindly changed our booking to something more suitable. The new booking was clean, modern and great views. Very well equipped.

You can't see the lake from the house but it was just a short drive away. If the TV has Netflix, it would've been perfect!

The fireplace and the heaters provided were really warm, our nights were really comfortable. The house was really lovely too, with a nice bench at the balcony and all facilities really clean and well maintained. Can also do some stargazing at the balcony with the camping chairs provided. Appreciated that the toilet and shower were separate, and the kitchen is really clean! We learnt to chop our own firewood for the fireplace.

The bottom of the oven wasn't clean so the first time we used it the house filled up with smoke

Deck was great with lots of outdoor furniture but shame it gets sun the whole day, main bed felt hard but lumpy and pillows are terrible and made sleep difficult.. either super soft and lumpy so they flatten or already flat like pancakes. A dryer or clothes line would have been good as it was hard to get clothes dry .. seems like there used to be a dryer as well as a dishwasher according to the info book there .. maybe pre reno.. and although it sleeps six there’s only 5 mismatched not nice glasses.. this does not seem like a bit investment to make yet would make a big difference.. same with fry pans.. 2 maybe use to have non stick coating but it has come off or nearly off .. again not a big outlay to make a big difference if wanting to cook.

It’s a cultural matter but wish there was bath tub. We recommend you to stay at hot spa if need to warm up! Also wish there was tumbler since too cold in the snowy weather to wash and we also didn’t have enough time to wait for our clothes to dry.

Excellent opportunity to stay in a private spacious home with kitchen and beautiful garden!
