The bathroom was a bit basic. The cold tap barely worked and the shower pressure dropped when both taps were on.

The breakfast was good and plentiful.

It was fine for what we needed at that point of our trip.

You do get what you pay for and our room looked about as old and tired as I did at that point. Shower needs updating - pressure was fine but that little old plastic shower-head needs an update and the shower walls looked a bit grimy. Not a room to spend time in (small & cramped with two beds) but fine if you're out and about all day and just looking for a place to sleep.

The room did have it's own 'old hotel' charms, beds were comfortable, decent restaurant and a cosy bar. Excellent location in Dunedin with the centre of town just a few minutes' easy walk away, and equally as close to attractions such as the historic train station and art centre, and the settler museum. Hotel staff are pleasant and helpful. The cost was right for us as we were budgeting strictly at that point.

The facilities are on the older side. It's OK as long as you regard it in the spirit of Olde world charm :-)

Excellent staff. You HAVE to hear the boss's fish story!! Great welcome and everyone has time to chat and make you feel at home. AMAZING chefs! Dinner is well worth it! Awesome location close to town.

The room was tired. The bathroom needs a make over. The chair was grotty. The fridge didn’t get very cold.

Needed a refurb - particularly in ensuite. Was as pictured, but no photos of the bathroom.

Convenient location and friendly staff and food in the restaurant was good and convenient for us.

Any window soundproofing would have helped with the traffic noise from busy streets. It was in need of a refit. No temperature control to cool the hot nights.

It was clean and had what we expected in terms of tea/coffee/soap. The location is superb. Visible and close to everything. Lovely people, and a good pub downstairs.

The hotel is above a pub, which is handy on the one hand, but busy and noisy on the other.

Very handy location, in the middle of the town centre. Rooms clean and perfectly comfortable.
