How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The apartment was so comfortable and clean and quiet! It was within walking distance to many restaurants. We actually walked into Auckland City one day. It was about a 15–20-minute walk. We loved the apartment very much!

The lounge chairs are stylish but uncomfortable..(not the kind of chairs for TV watching). There’s no fans or aircon. Opening doors lets in the busy traffic noise. A TV in the other bedroom would have been appreciated.
The apartment is modern & beautifully decorated & well equipped. Coffee machine & generous coffee pods.

The view is nothing special but in all other respects we liked it a lot
Very well equipped and comfortable apartment very close to the city centre and the popular Ponsonby district with its restaurants and bars

Nothing bad to say!
The apartment is super roomy and classy, perfect for a few people or 2 couples. I got ready here with my bridesmaids and it just had the perfect lighting and space in the kitchen. There is also nespresso machine so you can make great coffee and with the milk frother, just need to buy milk. The deck is awesome and It's super soundproof!there is a cute cafe behind and out front For all the ladies doing their makeup, do it in the dining area the lighting is perfect! This is where all the bridesmaids had their makeup done and the lighting was spot on. The Bathroom lighting is darker but i love it that way, just handy having a pocket mirror. Just a beautiful happy spot thats great for hosting. Yes there may be some road construction outside but thats Auckland city for you and its not permanent. The host was very easy to communicate with and i was able to confirm a few things before i booked so i appreciated that! Dont be afraid to message if you have queries you will have all your questions answered! There is a New World ( supermarket) up the road, plenty of playgrounds in a walking distance, bars and restaurants up the road so you cant go wrong with this location! There is a cute little dipping pool outside and a great sitting area at floor level!

The property was very modern, clean and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms had modern showers and had plenty of hot water. The kitchen was well equipped including espresso machine. The location was quite near the central district but in a quiet neighborhood. We highly recommend this apartment

Bathrooms were very dark for putting on make up (we had a stage competition we were competing at).

1) The photographs showed the inside of the property well but one very important photo was missing! The flight of steps leading from the main door to the interior of the property was not shown. This is a very important information as it is a deciding factor for people with mobility problem. 2) We are very rudely shocked and woken up early the first morning by heavy drilling, hacking and compacting noise.! There are road works just outside the apartment window. I communicated this to the manager who informed us that this is out of his control as it’s the council’s time and they start work at the legal time and that the noisy work would be moving up the road soon. 3) Further investigations revealed that the unbearable hacking and drilling noise did not come from the roadworks. It comes from the renovation work in the next door apartment! The building manager would have informed all landlords and owners before work commenced. Why wasn’t this communicated to us before our arrival? We could at least be alerted and not be shocked out of bed. The manager could offer us an apology for the expected noise instead of letting us go around the block to investigate the noise and finding out it’s not just the roadworks which is beyond his control. Our issues: 1) Essential information about the steps not revealed 2) Noise issues not communicated to us in truthful manner. The manager responded very quickly to our communication but he needs to be forthright with the facts.
Convenient location. Property is clean and well appointed.
