Only that we didn't stay longer.

We had the Villa to ourselves and it was my dream house full of old world comfort and charm. The fire was on when we arrived and it was so homely. The setting was in a magical place, a real rural retreat with stunning scenery. We lit the fire in the lounge room on our second day and spent an idyllic day reading and chatting by the fire. The clawfoot bath was wonderful, the breakfast scrumptious and the hosts David and Sue were most welcoming and interesting to talk to. We truly loved it.

The house was located amongst stunning scenery, the setting tranquil and the birdsong abundant. The design of the house was truly unique with creative use of brick, wood and glass. Sue and David provided a delicious breakfast and shared some great travel stories. Lovely friendly people.

    Nothing at all

This was a real getaway, somewhere completely unique. The hosts David and Sue could not have been more accommodating, they really welcomed us into their homes. It was great having dinner with other guests too, new friends.

Very friendly and hospitable hosts who were really helpful and gave good advice for things to do in the area for our three-day stay. Nice location near Awastone which is good for food and kayaking down the river. The accommodation itself is beautiful and very quaint, it's a nice farmhouse which is very homely and feels like stepping back in time.

There wasn't anything I could say that there was to dislike, our expectations were far exceeded. We got way more than what we expected to pay for.

Breakfast was the best, dining with other people that were staying, from different backgrounds, chatting, while eating breakfast was fun. I'm not much of a conversationalist, but breakfast time brought out a pat of me that I didn't know I had.

Everything was perfect. Lovely fire heated the whole house making it a very comfortable stay. Everything was as expected. We have told other colleagues who will try and book in when they are also passing through.

Lovely hosts, quiet and peaceful break in between work locations. Breakfast was lovely with all the homemade jams -raspberry was my favourite, but strawberry, balsamic and black pepper coming in a close second. Always great conversation.

We arrived very late after finding the nearby towns were full and making a very late booking and greatly appreciated the lovely welcome we received. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the unique, spacious and comfortable villa and breakfast , served to us next morning in the garden, was superb. We also loved meeting the 6 week old foal, Rain. The retreat is on the Manawatu Scenic drive which we continued next day. Thank you Sue, David and Matt for a lovely stay.

Sadly, I arrived late and had to leave early, so I didn't get much of an opportunity to make the most of the location or even stay for the breakfast. The roads are quite windy and arriving in the dark and rain made the last 15-20 mins of the drive quite anxious.

Beautiful location, friendly hosts, Sue and David really go above and beyond to make everything comfortable. The space is quiet, and there is delightful homely feel to the experience. I felt very welcome and cared for. Definitely a home stay experience.
