The location on the river with the mountain backdrops from the cabin was amazing. Close to the cruise for day two with a short walk. Room was superb with great bed and pillows. Overall a pleasant two days to switch off and enjoy the location and the food was superb in the restaurant and decent serving of fresh produce. The venison, lamb mains ideal, and sorbet and crème brûlée desserts ideal.

Hard to fault anything, I was too distracted by the view :) The breakfast should include plant-based milk options, especially since I specified my dietary requirements ~ four months before arriving. The plant-based options at the restaurant were okay but not exciting.

The view from the river-facing room is stunning! The room is comfortable and well laid out.

One quibble which doesn't reflect on staff or management. National Parks has not allowed the Lodge to improve pathways to the Sound or down to the river. It was walk a kilometre beside the road (occasionally quite busy) or attempt some tricky rock scrambling on the degraded bush track.

Milford Sound is stunning and the Lodge location with river views was a delight. Super helpful staff. Tara and the Brazilian nature guide (sorry that we didn't catch his name) were real gems! Lovely to have weka and kea birds walking around outside our cabin. We arrived by bus and were picked up and dropped off at the ferry terminal by staff on a number of occasions. So helpful.

We shared our chalet with another couple. We slept in the room with 2 single beds. Given the cost I think the host could have provided another double bed. The communal cooking facilities were very busy and lacked a lot of utensils and we had to wash our utensils before we could use them.

The location is breathtaking.

Everything was perfect at Milford Sound Lodge as anticipated. This was our third visit and it didn’t disappoint, rooms were perfect, staff were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. We chose the in room dining while the restaurant was being renovated which was an 11/10. Our Riverview suite was stunning and I was pleasantly surprised to find a bath in the room. Look forward to our next trip and highly recommend.

Only a couple of the units have the river view, the others have a mountain view. I was expecting a river view as per photos. For luxury accommodation the bath towels were quite thin, definitely not high quality. A little thing that would be easy to fix especially paying $800/night. The restaurant was closed when we were there so we ordered our dinner and it was brought to our room. The food and wine was outstanding but because all the plates were delivered at once most dishes were not hot by the time we ate them.

Jess was a fabulous help. The location was exceptional. The facilities were complete and to a very high standard. The wildlife was amazing. We saw a Kakapo in the wild.

Lots of flies in our room but being where it is that can't be helped. We managed to sort it without any fuss.

Even though the hotel reception and restaurant building is under construction, we had great communications from the hotel explaining everything and offering us a meal in our chalet instead of the restaurant. The food was delicious! The breakfast was lovely in our room too. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location was great for access to the Milford Sound tours. There are friendly Kea who come to say hello too! Beautiful view from our chalet couldn't have a price on it. Lovely stay all in all.
