Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandBeds were a bit soft for my liking. Lighting in the room was a bit dim. Phone to reception wasn't working. These were only minor issues and I would definitely stay again.
- Excellent location, close to Te Papa and a lot of restaurants, Cuba Street etc. - Was great for travelling with a 5 year old who wanted to go back to the room for a rest in between activities. - Car Parking was good, no need to book in advance (some other hotels I looked at couldn't guarantee a carpark). It is valet parking and the concierge was great to deal with, always had the car ready when I needed it (cars are stored across the road in a secure carpark when not in use). - Reception and Lobby area is nice with lots of artwork to look at. Swimming pool, Spa and Sauna were all in operation during my stay which was a main reason I wanted to stay here, kid loved it. - Staff were friendly and always helpful when assistance was needed. - Size of room was fine for a family of 3. - Large bath tub which the kid enjoyed too. - Tip for guests: the hotel shares their main entrance/ reception with QT hotel. When inputting into google maps use the QT Wellington address (90 Cable Street). The Wakefield St address given will take you to the back entrance which you can't enter without a key card.

New ZealandThe decor is starting to look a bit tired.
The location is excellent, with all of the main attractions being in close proximity. The huge plunging bath tub was also a main draw card and made good use of the facilities in the hotel (spa snd swimming pool). The bed was comfy and the room very spacious.

Australiatv/entertainment options was terrible, if not offering any entertainment options, at least have a smart TV and people can use their own streaming apps, or at least a google chromecast so people can cast to the TV. a small 2 seater chaise for a 4 person apartment was not enough seating. pool was out of order for our whole stay air conditioning system was a bit difficult to figure out, guide how to use would have been good
size of the apartment was great, location was also great. toiletries in bathroom were great. lobby and art were fantastic. Full size 6 seater dining table!

New ZealandI had emailed the previous day asking for an early check in and received a vague reply. On the day we arrived about 2 (check in at 3) and they said they room wasn’t ready, however it was guaranteed by three, so we left and came back at 3.05. The room still wasn’t ready so we were given two drink vouchers and a promise of an upgrade. Half an hour later the room was ready, however no upgrade. The room was nice and pleasant however dirty utensils in the draw, a questionable smear by the toilet. I tried to ring room service however the room phone wasn’t working. I ring reception 13 times before they finally answered. The room service didn’t take long which was good.

AustraliaStaff don't seem happy and came across a little aloof.
Large room, funky decore in the room and throughout the hotel. Great location in the middle of Wellington city. Noting the hotel shares its reception with QT. Easy walk to multiple restaurants and bars, shopping etc. There is valet parking onsite and parking around the hotel. All expensive of course.

New ZealandThe address on the property on booking.com was not the entrance to use. Unfortunately because of the one way system we had to drive further away to return to the right entrance.
Perfect location. Quiet for being so central. Comfy beds. Staff great after we arrived much earlier than check in time. Would stay again

United StatesAdvertises washer/dryer in room, but the dryer function does not work. The maintenance man who came up said that the nine-hour (!) time given for drying a load was accurate, but that it doesn't ever really dry things. They just get warm.
Lovely hotel with nice lounge/bar, ecclectic art, and very well appointed rooms.

AustraliaMinor points but you asked so; Washing / dryer machine took over 4 hrs to wash then another 3hrs to dry but it worked. Lighting in the rooms was dim, difficult to find stuff in the wardrobe, you'll know what I mean when you stay there but that's the vibe of the hotel.
