Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaOnly complaint was absence of towel rack! Definitely first world problem. Essentially nothing I didn't like.
I always love staying at QT. Funky decor, with great art. Beautiful room with really comfortable bed. Lovely view of the harbour. Great location. Almost next door to Takina Convention Centre, and plenty of cafes/bars/eateries/shops nearby. Could walk either direction along the water. Delicious food from restaurant.

New ZealandI didn't like the bed and it made it very hard to sleep as there was a massive dent in it almost felt like a valley it should really be replaced along with the matress protector which I saw when fixing my bed (gross stains all over it in we will say a presumptuous area 🤮) as well as the pillows being super big and not as flat as I'm personally used to, the room was clean all apart from the hanging light having dust on the cord coming down from the ceiling.
I liked the staff all super lovely and the pool, spa, sauna and gym also the breakfast was great!

United Kingdom$40 charge for valet parking thought was excessive. Booked harbour view - but this is limited with Te Papa and other buildings - so main view is a bit of the marina … and the car park in front.
Nice, and clean. Didn’t make use of a lot, was only one night and was really using it just as bed for the night.

United KingdomHarbour view wasn't much of a harbour view, and the room was noisy: earplugs just about made it bearable. I'd not put soft cheeses on the same plate as the meat at breakfast myself.
Hotel was trendy, but still nice. Breakfast was very high quality goods (they were understaffed at Easter, but that can happen). Gym was good enough. Very good location. Lovely bath in my room.

AustraliaI didn't realize that breakfast wasn't included. For some reason I was under the impression it was. That's it really.
Location was good. Room was clean and modern. They gave us a bottle of prosecco and chocolates for our anniversary and flowers which we thought was nice. The bar staff were super helpful and nice too. The art was cool too.

New ZealandNo restaurants were open, the bar area downstairs is very basic. Probably need more staff on to provide the service they charge for. Also the shampoo conditioner and soap dispensers were all empty in our room. Date repeatedly asking to be refilled, no one came.

New ZealandRoom temperature hard to control. Main lobby is dusty in places. The brass faces on the counters should be cleaned regularly as there are always fingermarks on them. Reception and concierge sometimes not staffed. Meals in the lobby bar take a long time to arrive.

AustraliaStaff were not welcoming on arrival or helpful with any issues.
Great location but unfortunately we had a bad experience with some staff and air conditioning issues. Our air conditioner was stuck on heat symbol for 2 nights in summer and no help was given after numerous requests. We had 2 king deluxe rooms and one of the rooms was so uncomfortable that sleep was impossible. Other than that the facilities and amenities were excellent so let’s just hope this is an issue that will be addressed.

New ZealandIt’s so dark, everywhere you go! I appreciate that it’s mood lighting, but you can’t even do your makeup in the bathroom mirror as the lighting is so poor. It’s like watching one of those shows on Netflix that are so dark that you don’t even know what’s going on. The cleanliness factor isn’t great. Part of our bathroom sink had been cracked and glued back together, there had been holes patched in the walls of our room which were very visible at certain angles, and the windows of our room weren’t very clean (however this could just be due to the salt spray from the harbour?). The water from the shower pretty much runs straight under the shower door into the bathroom, saturating everything in its path. There is almost no space on the bathroom sink to put any of your belongings. Speaking of space, there were small things such as a hanging pendant light shade taking over the bedside table meaning you could barely put anything on it, that were just annoying. The breakfast buffet was extremely limited and disappointing, and the breakfast items on the menu were just bland and didn’t live up to the beautiful surroundings of the restaurant that they were being served in. I wouldn’t recommend upgrading to a Harbour View room, as it’s pretty much just a view of the carpark next door (however the fruit & vege market here on the weekends is quite interesting to watch). Overall, I think I’m being very generous here with my rating, as the negatives just outweigh the positives too much :(
The location was excellent, directly across the road from Te Papa Museum. There was quite a bit of parking on the side street when we arrived, which was handy. We ended up using the valet service and although quite expensive at $40 a night, it was convenient. The staff were very friendly, and nothing seemed to be a problem for them. Some interesting art to look at throughout the hotel, and the downstairs bar/lobby had a really cool vibe to it. If you opted out of housekeeping for the day, you scored yourself a $10 food & drink voucher which was a nice little bonus.

New ZealandNoisy aircon and the extraction fan in bathroom was also noisy. The window latch was broken and when the wind got up was a bit drafty. Didn’t worry so much about that as was summer. Hallways were really dark. Probs for the artwork, cool place to stay but may need a bit of a revamp
Breakfast was good. Having a swim in the pool was great. Awesome location to shops bars and easy walk to the stadium along the water front Funky decor and some of the artwork was amazing
