Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThere was very limited free parking. The parking available was very expensive. It was also very noisy outside late into the night. Neither of those things were the fault of Nomad though.
The hostel was very bright and clean

United KingdomThe dorms could be done with an upgrade with bunks that have a curtain for privacy. Showers were a bit tight, with only 1 hook for your clothes, towel and washing. Maybe a fold away shelf to put clothes on rather than the floor. Otherwise no issues
Offered an easy and effective way of going about the building, plently of toilets and showers for all guests. Room was as expected, bunk bed set up in the dorms. Full kitchen area and lounge area, has a sauna and cinema room but I didn't use them in my stay.

United StatesThe luggage storage room is small considering the needs of the guests, I.e. lots of backpackers. It was a tight squeeze into the storage room and we had to move other bags to get to ours. Small inconvenience for secure storage for the day.
Location was great. It is an easy walk to everything including the gondola and wharf. The staff was helpful in understanding the property’s systems and facilities. We ended up not using the communal kitchen but it looked well supplied.

United StatesI stayed in the girls only dorms (wahine) and paid extra for it, however all the girls dorms were located right above 3 bars so it was so loud at night the room would shake with the bass from the music. This goes on until 4:00am. I don’t understand why we needed to pay more for safety and be rewarded with horrible sleep. If you are in Queenstown for hiking it’s best not to stay here. I also found some of the staff members to be very ambivalent when there were any issues as well.
It was in a central location and very convenient for getting around. The building and rooms were fairly nice and there were extra bathrooms in the hall with showers so we didn’t have to fight for them on days when we were all going out at the same time in the morning.

United StatesThere was a dirty towel left in our bathroom, and we were woken up in the morning by some very loud visitors in the hallway. The walls are a bit thin. The price for parking near the hostel is insane.

United StatesThe downside of the location was that the bar/restaurant across the street was noisy and someone played loud music until 3am on a Saturday night. We could have used more hooks in the bathroom and by the door as you come into the room door to hang things. The balcony was nice but we didn't use it much because some of the concrete tiles were wobbly and moved when you walked on them. And there were only 2 chairs that were shared with our neighbors.
It was nice being close to the beach and waterfront. The room was nice, loved the windows and natural light. Bed was very comfy.

Poland1. It was noisy. Balcony doors should be offering some soundproofing, especially when there is a music club across the street. 2. Regarding bedding, the hostel only provided pillowcases for pillows, and the unchangeable duvet lacked a duvet case, where you could put duvet inside, that would offer a more hygienic solution. 3. Lockers were wery small 4.The electric sockets werent next to each bed, only in one place in the corner.
Big kitchen with enough place for storage food and fridges and spacious common area with tables and sofas. Hot free sauna 80C nice after long hike.

United StatesParking can be trouble if you are there between 9am - 6 pm due to all the parking being either payed or 30min limit. It is right in the hubbub of all the shopping and busy area, so it was very noisy most of the night inside our room. Right across the street from a bar, and they make sure you know it. I've never seen a busier hostel in my life. They do a good job managing the amount of people and I never felt crowded or anything, but just surprising how many rooms and people there were. Had to download an app to unlock your room door.
For how busy it is, it was really clean with easy check in and check out. Staff was very nice and helpful. Bathrooms were very nice with lots of showers.
