Close to walks , great wee pub with great food next door

We loved our stay at the Omau Settlers Lodge Motel. It was an awesome location being very close to Cape Foulwind Lighthouse, beautiful Tauranga Bay and the Kawatiri Coastal trail. As soon as we arrived we felt at home amongst the beautiful gardens and the homeliness of the motel. We were greeted at Reception with friendly and helpful customer service and a bonus of finding out breakfast was included. We had booked two rooms and both had a lovely outlook at the front and back with sliding doors opening on to decks on both sides. The rooms were well laid out, very clean, cosy and equipped with everything we needed. There was ample parking and the motel had a lovely outlook over the bay. Breakfast was included and consisted of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, toast, tomatoes and toast spreads plus coffee, tea and juice. This was served in a lovely dining room. Overall we loved our stay and highly recommend.

The decor is just a bit tired and there are too few plugs - but that is just minor.

Located close to Westport, and several local attractions. Lovely small motel with super friendly staff. Breakfast is available. Our room had a front and back sliding door with seating areas. I would definitely stay again.

The continental breakfast was as usual, better than nothing.

The room was large and full of light. There was a restaurant " Star Tavern " with very good food. There were lookout points and trails nearby. Very good location.

We were looking for a stop between Franz Josef and Kaiteriteri. This place was perfect. Firstly its location is on the coastal trail and it’s also next to a tavern. The property is clean and well maintained. Loved the doors opening onto a beautiful maintained gardens. Ours looked out of the agapanthus to the mountains beyond. We enjoyed the secluded hot tub after our walk to see the sea lion colony near by. Then popped over to the tavern for a meal.

A very nice, quiet location near local dining. Room was comfortable and well appointed. We had a short walk to a very nice local dining spot and the scenic bluffs above the beach were nearby. Enjoyed the convivial breakfast room.

Free breakfast is offered but unfortunately its not very good. The Coffee ran out and no staff in sight.

The room was spacious with the bed at an angle. We liked the decor. The agapanthus outside were lovely.

The location was quiet and the room was clean and comfortable and very pleasant garden. Place to eat close by and beautiful views of the coast within a short walk. Very enjoyable stay. Breakfast was offered but we slept in instead the breakfast room looked lovely.

Bit expensive

Great host, comfortable bed, great shower, close to good walks and restaurant, close to the water, could hear the surf and experienced amazing stormy weather. Very warm room. Generous breakfast supplied.

Amazing place to stay. I wish we could have stayed another night. I’ll definitely be back! Great location but you’ll need your own car. The owners were accommodating and gave us a room with two beds when they saw that we were two friends travelling together (we had booked a double room)
