Wifi doesn't really work in the rooms, would have been great if it did! Also the milk in the fridge was expired the whole stay 😅 But the dry cereal was still good!

Wifi didn´t reach the cabin very well, but not really a problem. It helps you to disconnect from everything.

Amazing place to stay, peaceful, relaxing and comfortable. The owners are very welcoming and you feel like home. The view from the lounge and the kitchen is the best, you can watch the sunrise over the lake and mountains while having breakfast.

I had a few fantastic days at Ora Retreat. Like I was at home but even better. The relaxing yoga in the morning, the dip in the ice-cold lake nearby, the pleasant drinking of tea and talking with Cary and the other guests. It was very relaxed and personal. My stay at Ora Retreat will be a lasting memory.

Great location, views superb and bus stop so close and convenient, wasn't a worry at all being a little bit out of town. Greenery outside my windows just as shown in the pictures. Lovely bird songs!

Nothing, except being a very light sleeper, my cabin was next to a road, but it was a minor road and problem 😊

Nice selection of breakfast food and the bonus was a coffee machine with fresh beans. The location was amazing, plus the morning yoga with Kaari and dip in the lake. There was also a walking track, very nearby, with amazing views.

Parking can be a touch tricky; there is plenty available, just not necessarily out the front.

We had the ensuite room which was spacious and spotless with a great view. Bed was very comfortable with crisp sheets. Common areas are shared, and breakfast is communal. Well hosted. Ideal location in terms of being out of busy Queenstown. Location is a suburban area with a fabulous expansive view.

Ora Retreat is such a special place ✨. Warm, welcoming, relaxing, peaceful. The view of Lake Whakatipu is gorgeous at all times of the day, but especially at sunrise and sunset. This place attracts the most lovely people and it was such a joy to connect with other guests. The owners, Kaari and Paul, made me feel so welcome, as if I was part of the family. I highly recommend it to any travellers, and particularly to those who appreciate a bit of peace and quiet during their trip. I can’t wait to be back again!

What a wonderful place. Away for the hustle and bustle of the center of Queenstown. Kaari and Sage were wonderful and as Kaari says, nothing is impossible. So kind and giving with their time and advice. I instantly felt at home which is not that easy for me. The views from the decking were amazing and calming. I'll be back here in 2027 and it can't come quick enough. I will miss this little piece of heaven.

When I arrived the owners were away so Sage their son was in charge and gave me a rundown, saying just to ask if I had any questions but then left to walk the dog. He was gone I would guess for an hour and a half or longer. I tried to make my dinner but couldn't figure out how to use the hob. I had also in the meantime met some other guests who were at a loss not knowing their room name so waiting for return of Sage. I felt like one of the blind leading the blind.

It would be nice to have another shared bathroom/shower available, although I never really ran into any problems with everything being occupied.

Location a bit out of town but easily reachable by bus, and the surroundings are lovely. The entire experience is quite laidback but very comfortable. My room was a separate one-room cabin with lots of windows surrounded by lots of trees; the bed was very comfortable, complete with electric blanket for when it's chilly. Breakfast is serve-yourself from the shelves in the kitchen, and the view from the deck is FANTASTIC. The owner Kari is extremely friendly and accommodating. She will probably invite you to morning yoga. She will also probably invite you to jump in the (very cold) lake with her. The feeling is one of being welcomed into a community. It was a marvelous place to stay, a real retreat, and one of the highlights of my time in Queenstown.
