Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaFantastic location. Lovely host. We visited as a young family and this apartment was beautiful, clean, light filled and very spacious for us and our 3 kids. Definitely will book again when visiting Christchurch. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay!

New ZealandI asked the members of our party if they could think of anything negative. No one could!
This is a wonderful apartment in a perfect location. Everything in it was of the highest quality. It has a spacious living area, a well-equipped kitchen and the three bedrooms our party needed. The hosts had gone the extra mile with fresh fruit and Easter eggs on the ding table. I cannot praise this property too highly.

United KingdomIt was unfortunate for us, we had two incidents during our stay in which the host resolved them as quickly as possible. The first, the apartment door couldn’t open and needed new batteries and the second, we had no electricity for a few hours due to a technical problem. The host took care of this promptly.
Great, comfortable, spacious and well appointed accommodation in the very heart of Christchurch. Highly recommended!

United KingdomMay have benefited from A/C when we were there, but we managed to cool it down for sleeping and with the windows open we were not disturbed by the sounds of 5he city
The location was superb and the apartment was very clean with all the amenities expected. If you’re travelling as a group or family the apartment had three generous bedrooms. The entrance atrium, with the Restaurant Tram right outside, gave a unique dimension.

AustraliaAs this apartment was in the Quest serviced apartments I believe the hotel needs to maintain the corridor carpets and lift to a higher standard.
The location was excellent and allowed easy walking access into the City Centre. The apartment was spacious and the kitchen had everything you would require for a short stay. Accessing the apartment was easy and the host was very accommodating.

United KingdomMinor detail but the frying pans could do with an update as non stick coating is slowly peeling off.
Amenities and location. Kitchen fully equipped including condiments and oil/milk/tea/coffee. Comfortable beds. Very clean. Everything that you will need for a comfortable stay. And the flexibility with check out time, and good communication with host. Would stay again when back in Christchurch.

New ZealandTrying to find the door! I guess there's no easy way to explain it though.
We appreciated being able to check-in earlier as it made it easy for us to deal with our luggage before going to our first meeting. We loved being so close to Te Pae.

New ZealandMaps lead us to the wrong street, so just be aware of this in case it does the same for you.
Incredible location, and one of the few places where the place actually looks better and bigger than in real life than in photos - it's huge! Bonus to have a free car park for use during the stay as well. Couldn't recommend this place more.

AustraliaWe were warned well in advance that the lift was being repaired so would need to use the stairs, but after a couple of days +/- wine, they 7 floors did feel like they went on and on forever which made us dread the climb.
Great communication prior to arrival, but we did has some problems finding the key at midnight as it had fallen to the bottom of the box and I didn't see it. Well stocked with supplies - fruit bowl was a nice touch! Clean and spacious + everything was within walking distance eg restaurants, convention centre etc

New ZealandThe lift to the 7th floor. Often had to wait for it and it is a wee bit noisy in the master bedroom.
Everything was there for us as described. Lots of space, very comfortable. Great for the family with younger kids. Even a couple of surprise little bonuses on arrival. Awesome to have parking too. Great little Japanese restaurant below.

SingaporeThe apartment is split across 2 levels - the 3 rooms and 2 bathrooms were located on the upper floor, while the lower floor had the living area, kitchen, and one toilet. We had 4 seniors in our group, so there was a bit of inconvenience because of this. I may have missed this in the description, but I wish I knew about this prior to booking. Also, a highlight of this place is its centrality, but it is a double-edged sword - Friday and Saturday nights can tend to get noisy as people have too much to drink. We could hear a fair bit of shouting and revelry, although it did not really disturb our sleep.
The location was perfect - literally in the heart of the city. The living area was spacious and cosy, the kitchen was well-equipped and had most things you'd need during a stay. I was impressed that they even included a small sewing kit, as my coat pocket had a hole that needed mending. There is a dedicated parking lot for your vehicle, so you need not worry about having a parking space - do note that it is only for a single vehicle, however. The apartment's location is also the starting point for tram city tours, so those who are keen to explore the city via tram would benefit. The bowl of fruit on arrival was a nice touch that made us feel extra welcome :)

The apartment was spacious, quiet and well equipped. Our group of three adults, one 8 year old and two 7 year old children found the apartment to be everything we needed for our Christchurch adventures. The location is excellent with easy walking access to places like shops, parks and the bus depot. Our host Alison was super helpful which we very much appreciated. We highly recommend a stay here.
