How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Kitchen was a little dated and probably needs a refurb in the near future, however it was clean and had everything we needed.
Clean and close to local walls and walks and sightseeing. Easy to check in and pretty well equipped. Great value for money

No real privacy for the outdoor bath. There was a kids playground just meters from the pod and you could perfectly hear your neighbours, so it was hard to peacefully enjoy the bath. The pod was actually a container so there was heavy condensation on all windows. No real view of the mountains around and there was a road just behind the unit, so traffic noise.
Room was comfy. Booked it because of the bath. The staff were very friendly.

The front of the accommodation was directly at end of walkway .... had to keep curtains closed permanently for privacy
Good location with burger van nearby. Excellent facilities for children and families, trampoline and table tennis, games and communal spaces Clean and modern.

The Chalet was cold most of the time as it didn't get any sun and we had to put the heaters on occasionally. The shower leaked so the floor was wet most of the time.

Great location, fantastic staff to offer tips about places to eat (go to Schnapp’s Bar for delicious and plentiful food) and alternative hikes. Very nice family friendly vibe with trampoline and ping pong table, inviting communal kitchen and space. Though we stayed mainly in our room/suite as it had a kitchenette and living area which was very comfy and WiFi excellent. Our room didn’t have a tub to soak in after a long hike, but there is an option to book. Also laundry facilities on site. Plentiful parking. Definitely recommend!

The room was super cold, I had to keep the heater on all afternoon and through the night. In the morning, all the windows were really wet. Could have used a small (even foldable) table in the room.
The terrace was nice, the shared kitchen and lounge were great and very well equipped. The room was of a good size for one person and most importantly, it was clean.

We ended up in a pod. We were 3 adults and found it quite uncomfortably small for 3 of us.
I had booked the accommodation for the wrong date & the owner kindly charged me less for the night we arrived and found us alternate accommodation. The pod was exceptionally clean.

Just a bit pricey for a tiny (but new) cabin and essentially back packer like facilities. Otherwise nice little set up

The room is quite smaller than what I expected, the bathroom door was jammed so it was very hard to close. The body soap dispenser didn't work in the bathroom.
Easy check in and check out process. Outdoor bath is very nice! Good location

Only downside , which isn’t really the fault of the Lodge, was that the room next door didn’t respect the signs asking for quiet between 10pm - 7am and talked loudly enough for me to hear their conversation until gone midnight!
Convenient and clean accommodation, comfy bed, in a quiet street location. Shared bathroom and kitchen but all were also clean and well equipped. Staff extremely helpful regarding crossing info and recommendations for an afternoon stroll.

Beds in the main building could have been a bit more comfortable.
Great staff with awesome tips. Nice common area + kitchen with lots of space for your own stuff. Very nice ambiance. We first stayed in the main building, than booked an extra night because the Tongoriro Crossing was closed for two days (make sure you have enough time, this happens regularly!!) staff thought along really well. Great stay! Good value for money
