Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe unit needs a bit of attention for cleaning and some of the lights did not work.
Great location and spacious unit. Well equipped kitchen and great view. The gas fire place was nice in the living area. Nice warm bathroom with heated floors.

AustraliaAlthough the property had 3 tv's (each bedroom + living area) none of them worked. Poor signal meant it was unwatchable (2 kids) Contacted staff who said nothing could be done.
We stayed in apartment 26 (up the back and on the end). Good views, set back from main road and approx 15min walk into central Queenstown.

AustraliaThe bed was uncomfortable to sleep in. The double glazed windows blocked out a lot of noise but could still hear the noisy cars and trucks on the road. We also noticed with the blinds down,we could not see out but my husband looked in when he was out on the street and could see us inside. It was a 10-15 minute walk to the Centre of town down a hill but that hill has to be climbed if you walk back. About a $50 taxi from the airport. $15 Uber from town to hotel.
The view. The staff were lovely. The place was clean and tidy. Our towels were replaced daily. The place is well stocked but a bit dated.

AustraliaAccess only by stairs and/or very steep ramp. Room was very small. Of all of the places stayed in NZ through the week, it was the most expensive and the smallest space. Couldn’t even open our bags properly cause of limited floor area.

New ZealandChromecast played up continually, booked lake view room thinking we would have a lake view but you can't really see it from the bottom floor. Large apartment with loads of space however the bed and pillows weren't too comfortable. Some information explaining how to use the heating in various rooms may have been helpful. I think for the price we paid we just expected alot more but.. it's queenstown I guess.
The staff member on arrival was lovely, she was so welcoming and helpful. Further reception staff were not as warm.

AustraliaThe bed felt like sleeping on a concrete slab. Very hard and uncomfortable. Also there was a street light shining right into the bedroom at night. You could close the bedroom shutters but on a warm night you wouldn't get the air con from the main room. Would be better to have black out curtains on the main lounge windows.
The location was excellent! 15min stroll into town, which means you could leave the car in the undercover carpark at the Hotel. View fom Balcony was amazing.

New ZealandThe window wouldn't shut by the road side which meant it was loud and hard to get to sleep. The couch was very uncomfortable and there was construction directly next to the room and they could see in through our windows.

New ZealandOur studio unit was below the level of the walkway, so had to keep blinds closed as people walking by could see in. Take care to check when booking. We asked to be moved and staff were helpful and accommodating. However, these units seemed very pricey for what were essentially basement units.
Good location with on site covered parking. Units were clean and well maintained. Helpful, friendly staff.

AustraliaThe parking spots are hard to reverse out of so I had to back in, but there's storage cupboards in the spots meaning I had to stick out pretty far. There's also a fairly steep ramp for luggage, or stairs - no lift facility - this was fine for us but may not work for all.
We spent part of our honeymoon here. There was a note from the staff and a jar of mini brownies waiting for us in the kitchenette (which had enough utensils and such to cook a few meals in rather than always eating out, which was nice). The fireplace was a nice touch and the window view was nice.

New ZealandWe didn’t get the two continental breakfasts on either of the mornings. We stayed here for our wedding so really disappointing to wake up and not have anything to eat. Have requested some form of compensation and nothing received so far. TV in bedrooms don’t work due to poor reception. Cleanliness leaves something to be desired. Air con unit and fans in bathrooms absolutely caked with dust. So much so we didn’t want to use the air con in the second room we had there was even a mark on the roof from the dust pouring out of it. When booking it stated we had a computer and printer to use. None of this was on the room despite it portraying it would be. Simple things that would’ve made our stay more pleasant and in line with what we paid.
Great location, amazing views and super friendly and helpful staff. Left key out of our room night of wedding and they were really accommodating
