Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomNothing matched, so the interior was discordant. Laundry opening times were not helpful. Crockery and cutlery was of very poor quality. Office only rarely manned. My 2nd booking had been duplicated, by me, but landlord did not manage to cancel my 2nd payment, even 10 days' later, which is annoying. A small amount of effort, and money, could make this an excellent place to stay - currently it lacks any 'good taste'.
Comfy bed. Adequate kitchen, bathroom. Quiet location. Bus routes around the city easy from there. Netflix abd heater both good.

New ZealandNo Breakfast offered -and it seems they did not have this service at all. No Wifi offered and so I used my own mobile data and tethered my computer. I was "On a business trip" so Wifi and a breakfast were both generally important. The TV while it was on WiFi was a "strange beast" and I could not get free to air TV without logging in with a username and password? So resorted to using my phone to cast to the TV - it transpires that I consumed a significant amount of mobile data in this whole process. A simple instruction guide on how to get their TV to WORK would have been very helpful. Furnishings dated and DIY in the bathroom was below par. Its true that you get what you pay for and the daily rate was inexpensive in relations to what you'd expect - so I accept that - but in the heart of Christchurch? I understand why their Vacancy sign was ON - when all the other motels on that strip had No Vacancy signs. I returned my Key Card at 8:15 am and the proprietor was still in bed - which to me says a lot about what running a motel is "not all about".
Close to the centre of town and easy to get into town and so used an Escooter to commute. Reasonably quiet and shops withing easy walking. No noisy neighbours - so it ticked the boxes on all these counts. Kitchen worked ok - as with no breakfast offered - did all my own and was able to get that done with a good range of appliances and selection of saucepans, pots and basic culinary equipment.

There were tissues under the beds that should have been vacuumed away before our arrival and I'm tall so I see the dust and dead insects on the top kitchen shelf. I thought it was fairly pricey but that may have been due to it being a public holiday/long weekend?
the accommodation was as expected from the photos and description. It was comfortable enough for our family of 3 and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there relaxing from our activities and travels.

The location was excellent for us attending an event at Hagley Park, a diary close by and easy to find. Room was clean and bed comfortable. I realized I had left a brand new tshirt behind so I contacted the motel. They were honest and said, yes they had found the tshirt and will post on Monday. I was very grateful
