How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The robes in the room only came in a medium size and they had no other sizes.
Food was great, room was comfortable and had everything we need. Staff were very helpful and kind. The pool and jacuzzi were lovely as well.

Shower pressure was lacking and our 4th floor room was noisy due to the boy racers on Saturday night. I booked a playful room and expected to be on a higher floor. For a hotel this new in this location I expected it to have better sound proofing from the city noises.
Cool funky artistic hotel. Great views from the rooftop bar where we watched the sunset with some nice drinks and ceviche. Relaxing basement pool and spa. Comfortable room and complementary nonalcoholic minibar which was nice. Delicious dinner and best hotel breakfast I’ve had in recent years I particularly enjoyed the fresh orange juice machine.

Room: studio with bath in the room took up unnecessary space Toilet has to use the shower door as its door No where to hang towels Basin at the back of the vanity No toe kick so you stubbed your toes on the vanity getting close to the basin or magnified glass Magnified glass was on the mirror not independent so you could pull it out

Could not get through to staff from the room and couldn’t order room service. Not enough staff.
Great rooms and lots of additional extras including the green non alcoholic mini bar.

If you wanted light switches off I. Bedroom you couldn’t. They were connected to lounge. Toilet door didn’t stay closed. Portable hand shower and shower head leaked between head and pipe. The club times were explained but not the you need a seperate key. David thought it was his room key and had a few issues getting around the lifts to correct floors. Otherwise lift set out was great. Breakfast had wonderful views to enjoy.
The staff service. The valties were exciotionsl, warm friendly. Nothing a problem. Hards car waiting for debarture. The view was stunning, very comfortable bed. Nice having complementary water juice and , loved the chocolate welcome plate.

For the price, the check in was a nightmare, finally got in our room almost an hour after check in time. We were there super early to hand our bags in and requested early check in if possible, came back just before 3 when check in should start and still had to wait that hour in the lobby getting into our room at 4pm
The minibar was nice and the room was clean

Needed some close up detail to attention . Clean skirtings in toilet , have a paper and online dossier , sort out your contact to front desk as it was impossible to reach them and we had to go back to the lobby . Would be good to offer ice on arrival

We had such an amazing experience being our second time back but unfortunately, I was awoken by what sounded like construction in the restaurant above our room at early hours of the morning and continued until check out.
SO/ has such a unique vibe compared to other hotels. It shows style and quirkiness that makes the stay very special.

Breakfast was OK, but not out of the ordinary which for the price it should have been.
The room and general facilities were excellent. Evening dining is an experience which everyone should try, for the views as well as the food. Staff were all excellent.

Get a freshly cooked omelette made by the chef, add all the extras and devour it while its hot! Nab a seat infront of the windows and enjoy the spectacular view while you sip on your barista made coffee.

Super funky hotel in a fantastic downtown location. Stayed here for my husband's 40th and we were treated so well. We requested a quiet room as had heard it can be quite noisy & they met our request - it was lovely! Highly recommend staying here.

Roof terrace bar was booked for a private function on the only night we were at the hotel. Had to change our plans and go later. Restaurant Maitre d’ at breakfast could lift her standard of dress to at least that of the other staff ( Faded jeans, crocs and odd socks were definitely below SO hotel standards)

The spa pool wasn't working while we were there, and looked disgusting. Also there was some chocolate stuck to one of the pillows in the room. Small things that you wouldn't expect in a 5 star and gave an impression that it wasn't the cleanest place.
Great location and lovely staff, plus one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. Really good fitness centre. Well soundproofed, you couldn't hear a thing in your room.
