The property was perfect for our family, but probably wouldn't suit very young children, or people with reduced mobility.

This is a very special spot, enhanced with the carefully appointed accommodation. We were hosting some visitors from London and were lucky to get a clear night for stargazing - they were gobsmacked.

Te Tiro was absolutely fabulous! It was such a wonderful experience to stay in the cottage and it truly encapsulated what New Zealand is supposed to be. The cottage was so comfortable and cute! I’ve never stay in something so authentic and cosy - we loved it! The owner, Angus was absolutely wonderful and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. We hope to be back! If you aren’t sure whether to book this, just do it because you won’t regret it!

The most magical location with the most incredible views. Glow worms at the location and farmland with many lovely walks nearby and also close to the wiatomo glow worm caves.

Toilet and bathroom next to cottage, so might bother some to go out at night

Great location up on a hill, past sheep. very romantic and rustic cottages, close to Waitomo Caves. We really enjoyed their own little glowworm grotto. Sunrise to die for, stunning! Friendly and very responsive owner who checks in ahead on arrival.

Well, toilet was outside main cottage but facility good and meant we saw amazing night sky when visiting in the night!

An amazing location. Stunning views and beautiful sunrise to admire from the veranda. Cosy cottage with perfect provisions for our breakfast. Angus provided a very warm welcome. We enjoyed a walk around the family pond and ventured down to their own grotto with glow worm, just down from the cottage. The main Waitomo caves were a v short drive away. We can’t imagine why you would stay anywhere else in this area!

LOVED the views from our cottage. The most amazing sunrise and night sky we have ever seen. The hosts were more than accommodating and super sweet. Our favorite place that we stayed at during our visit to New Zealand. Walked their beautiful property with sheep and made amazing memories here. Amazing stay, loved every moment from the glow worm grotto to the lake. Relaxing on the deck and enjoying the amazing view with good friends. Glamping in a Yurt! Lovely breakfast provided. Good location to Waitomo Caves and adventures. Friendly and helpful host.

Sitting on the verandah and taking in the view was a highlight. It was breathtaking! The hosts, Angus and Rach were so lovely and welcoming. And the night walk just down the path to their very own glow worm grotto was nothing short of magical!

The setting was fabulous. We were free to walk around the farm - up to the ridge and down to the lake. The view from our cabin was superb and Angus is a very welcoming host. One of the best places we've ever stayed.

Location, location, location! Off the beaten path, this place is amazing! The simple, clean cottages have the most beautiful view! Perfect to watch the sunrise. 🌅

I can't recommend Te Tiro enough!! We stayed in Cabin 2, but both cabins and the glamping tent all have amazing views and everything you need. We ended up booking a second night because we just didn't want to leave and couldn't get enough of the beautiful view! Angus and his family are absolutely wonderful people, and the dog and cat are so sweet and I loved when they would visit us! Definitely take the short walk down to the glowworm grotto area at night! It's so cool to have a little private glowworm viewing, and don't forget to look up at the sky on a clear night! This place is magical, can't wait to come back someday!

The double bed was very soft.

We stayed in the chalet. A beautiful quirky wooden hut with an absolutely gorgeous view over the valley. It was very quiet and private with cows chatting to each other occasionally.

We loved everything.

Everything was wonderful! The view from our cabin was stunning. The cabin had everything we needed, even stocked with supplies for breakfast. Angus was so kind to show us around and give us recommendations. Te Tiro is not just a place to stay, it’s an experience!! We can’t stop raving about how cool it was. If you’re going to Waitomo Caves, staying here is a must!
