Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe heating was a problem as it had to be manually adjusted all the time as when it switched off it didn’t come back on . Believe it is a thermostat problem. It was cold in the morning even if set to 20 deg. We were also not aware of the 36 steps down to the apartment. My wife is elderly, asthmatic and found it difficult walking up the steps.
The apartment was comfortable with great views. We were told there could be noise from building going on in the area but we found the apartment very quiet.

AustraliaThe bed in the second bedroom was not hard enough and you sink into the bed, waking up with a bad back in the morning. My elderly parents did not appreciate the 2 flights of stairs down to Bunker A but the exercise was good for them and the views and comfort of the apartment made it all worthwhile!
The views of this property was the most memorable part of the trip to Queenstown. Being on a hill, we enjoyed a 180 degree view of the water and the property was clean and presentable upon arrival. We had freak weather during our stay and the temperature dropped to -3 degrees but we warm and cosy indoors so bonus points for comfort! The 2 bedrooms were on separate ends of the apartment so we enjoyed privacy on our ends. The location was most practical and being right between Frankton and Queenstown, either was easily accessible via car for food and grocery shopping. If you're a running enthusiast, it's an easy 5 min to get down to the water for a stroll/ run. The hill will be a fun climb too! We were there end Oct 2023 and although we were warned that there would be construction noise, we were not impacted by it and could hardly hear it.

AustraliaThe room with the Queen bed is smaller than the room with the single beds, and has less wardrobe space. But we really didn't mind (neither did our teenage boys!! they probably needed both the most!! ) Yes, Kitchen cupbaords are high. I just had to ask my boys to get things for me.
Loved the otlook, awesome large windows - amazing views. Loved the heating throughout, including bathrooms floors and towel rails, so nice to come home to. Netflix in every room, great wardrobe space, laudry and kitchen facilities. Great apartment app that you can use to look up any information you need about the accomodation. (It could do with a little more specific instructions for some appliances, but otherwise very useful). We were happy to be out of the city busyness. Easy to drive around. Wonderful cafe down the road.

AustraliaAs a very practical person I disliked some of the impractical choices made re furnishings, kitchen functionality and general living. Bedlights that you cannot read by,that take up half the space. Ensuite tap that was very difficult to turn on and off;even after using it for a 3 day period.Similarly the shower tap was most unusual. Not enough crockery if you want to run the dishwasher when it’s full. Very noisy ensuite fan that comes on with the light; not good for a night time visitation.
The view was incredible.Location very good and reasonably easy to find.

United StatesProperty management is a bit extra. Too much communication for check-in and check-out. I only need one email with the instructions. Also it's mandatory to fill out an off-site 3rd party rental agreement with CC info.
View and parking is what we found most valuable. Floor to ceiling windows to greet us each morning. Parking is fab, but you should only stay here if you've several nights in Queenstown (we had three nights). When we returned for our departure of South Island we elected to stay in town for the one night. Kitchen and laundry are good amenities too. Downtown parking is solid after 6pm, but they also have Uber if you don't want to deal.

United KingdomThere wasn't really anything g negative about it. If I was going to be really fussy I'd say it could be a bit more child friendly such as some plastic cups/plates and some child friendly games. Having said that, our kids LOVED IT. Pillows could have been more comfortable (but that is a personal preference).
So clean, felt like a bit of luxury, loved coming home to it every evening. It felt like a real treat.

New ZealandLining is not clean. A few stains which is disgusting. Pillows and beds are too soft. bed side lamps in the master bed are terrible and in poor quality. Heating system is a bit confusing. It feels like everything's in control with central heating but there are contolers to the penal heater at the bedroom which does not seem to work together with central heating. Sometimes it's hot in the living but still cold in bedroom.
View is good and the house is new in good condition.
