It was a gift to our friends for their wedding; they loved their stay and the experience. I requested some bubbles to be kept for the couple, and the host did it for us. The host was amazing to work with. One thing my friends mentioned that the road, just a short distance leading to the house were delightfully rustic, offering a charmingly rugged journey. It sure seemed the best little getaway present. :) Sorry didn't get photos.

Not a single flaw. After 7 prior visits to NZ, I can vouch that we have never visited such a wonderful property! Period.

The very first word out my mouth upon arrival was “STUNNING! “ Wai Rua is 80 acre farm/estate of absolute idyllic beauty; neatly maintained grounds, with floral highlights present whichever direction one looks. The “cottage” is a misnomer; it is a spacious, fully equipped small house! Kitchen must have every possible modern appliance; the main room is well furnished and extremely comfortable; in the bedroom the king bed is irresistibly relaxing. The whole unit shows off custom installed wood paneling throughout. Then there is the deliciously heated (!) swimming pool with area to lounge before & after.Did I mention the sweet companionable house cat Poly? Hosts Elaine and Allen were warm and hospitable as if faraway family members from the first minute. In short, they were gracious folks through and through and first rate conversationists on your choice of topic…

Around the hotiub. Needs to be tidy. Build a wooden box to hide the plastic tubs so it allnlooks tidy and natural around the hotubs. And then thees a place to pop you towels etc on. Would really lift the experience. Otherwise was really fabulous. That's just a tip on how to improve

Directions coming and going into the property could have been better.Got little lost when leaving the cottage. The short gravel road was sort of okay.

Organic bacon with fresh range eggs, the breakfast was super nice ! Scenery, birdsong,hot tub, and Mr Pig.Also, grass seeds for our birds at home. Really, it's a nice place to relax

Felt like an adventure entering the property. Very good getaway for couples wanting to relax and connect. Had to drive to kamo 4square for top ups but overall amazing property and experience wish we got to experience the hot tub tho. Appreciate the experience thank you.

My only small issue would of been to have the outdoor spa hotter, it was warm but it would have been more enjoyable if it was hot, the wood burner was out and we didn’t have a match to light it up.

Everything was wonderful, I loved the quiet and serene setting most of all. One of the best places that we have stayed in.

Loved everything about our stay but was a little bit out of town. There was a bit of gravel also going into the road.

Arrived with a very hapoy greeting. The cottage was big and very clean. Breakfast was very fulfilling with bacon and eggs, toast and jam or honey and muslie with yogurt. Loved the walk around the big section of ponds and walkways. Would of loved to go into the pool but it wasn't warm enough weather.

The location was incredible. It was a beautiful property. The grounds were photo worthy. The breakfast was good. It was simple. They provided eggs, bread, jam, yogurt, and bacon so it was nothing fancy but it was nice And filling I’ll also there was milk and coffee. Elaine and Allen were very nice and welcoming.

up about a mile on a gravel road though well maintained. and about five miles from town and cafes.

this is the most spectacular property I’ve ever stayed at. not only a fully equipped one bedroom en suite cottage but surrounding it was fabulous landscaping and ponds and exterior to that was isolated farmland with wild birds and ducks. wonderful hosts who provided a wide range of breakfast options. loved it

Nothing to dislike. A few extra plates in the cupboard and some extra cutlery in the draw would save us having to raid the dishwasher.

Stunning location,surrounded by a mixture of farmland and native woodland. Overwhelmed by the number of birds that could be seen from the terrace and through the window. A comfy cottage with all that one could ask for.
