Only thing I didn’t like was that the bath mats only got changed once during my 4 night stay and considering it was obviously stained and that it was communal facilities it could have been changed more often. Paper towel dispenser was always empty in one bathroom. No facilities to put milk in a fridge for coffee but reception did offer to put it in their staff fridge but was only accessible after 9am reception time. Internet was dropping out frequently on my first night but was more consistent when people checked out.

It was well located on the bus line and within walking distance of Remuera shops. The reception staff were very accommodating with a hair dryer and trying to help with solutions regarding coffee, and direction to events.

Google maps wanted me to go to the city. Shower turned cold within 2 minutes.

Shower could of been better. Shower mixer was an old style Feltonmix from the 1960's - I thought this would have been replaced years ago. Still it gave quite nice pressure and flow so not that bad.

Reception was not occupied when I arrived but turned up within 5 mins of ringing call button. Check in was quick and easy. Room was quite basic but large and roomy - Deveraux is a large colonial house so all rooms are larger than typical with high timber ceilings. Good FREE carparking. Easy access to motorway system with on and off-ramps only a few hundred metres away.

Enjoyed our stay. Both love the old building. Check in was easy. Lady at the desk very welcoming and friendly. Help when needed. Love the window seat in our room. Surprised how quiet the place was. Good parking. Definitely would return.

Kitchenette items lacking, only had 2 b'fast bowls, mugs, knife, fork n spoons. No dinner plates or bowls to heat stuff in the microwave. Smoke detector not in the ceiling but found in a kitchen drawer with NO battery and no outside light for going down the stairs when leaving the unit at night.

The location for visiting Onehunga Dress Smart, Sylvia Park, and surrounding suburbs was great, easy to find, friendly staff, check-in and out easy peasy. Good off-street parking, the Devereux was ideal for a place to use as a base to sleep for myself and my daughter for cpl of nights. For a brief Akld stay, it was all good!

The ground a were very unkempt the seeting area outside looked as though it could do with a really good clean up as we did mention this to the management it was such a shame as it would look beautiful if it was looked after

Unfortunately the lack of parking was an issue when we arrived back late at night.

We'd never stayed anywhere like it before, so it was a new experience for us and the kids. We were in Auckland for a concert and only stayed one night - so were really only at the Devereux to sleep, but it was a great location for us.

The power kept popping and paper thin walls but neighbours very considerate. The bed wasnt as comfy. An upgrade would benefit and complement the beautiful original home

To these guys, housekeeping is just opening the curtains and maybe giving you extra toilet paper. The pictures are misleading as the rooms are not nearly as neat as portrayed. They don't offer breakfast even though their site clearly state that's an option.

The bathroom/toilet was not clean or in a great state, seemed old and run down. Water was coming out of shower area and toilet bowl wasnt even cleaned properly. The place basically needs upgrades to the rooms. The lights were not working in the room either. We were not provided with the wifi password and had to keep requesting for basic neccessities. Nothing boutique about this place other than the overall look and gardens inside the property.

Property, including building and outside are a bit shabby and coiuld do with a freshen and tidy up. The 'garden view' was not great

The hotel is not ultra-clean. Rubbish was left for a couple of days in the corridor and I don’t think the corridor had been cleaned in months. Overpriced for what it is.

In a lovely area (Remuera) with some nice cafes nearby. Bus straight into the city was good. My room was ok and the shared bathroom clean.
