Room was excellent, very clean and spacious. Breakfast was 10 out of 10. All the staff were friendly, polite and courteous. Great selection movies etc on the television. No extra charge. Bowl of complimentary apples on each floor was a nice touch and the apples were sensational.

Too few staff working, messed up our restaurant dinner order missing items, forgot to book restaurant table or to charge bar drinks. No blame on staff, just an unfortunate sign of the times.

I can't name anything. It was an exceptional night there. Difficult to fault anything except possibly the number of charging ports for devices but honestly if that's the worst I can find then its definitely first world problems!

Room was lovely. Great shower. Comfy beds. Very helpful staff. Serene environment. Wonderful food! Very easy to get to. EV charging available. Just an all round exceptional location and hotel in Christchurch.

The rooms are spotless and luxurious. It is quiet and right across the road from the Avon River and Hagley Park, yet just a walk to the city and shops. The restaurant food was very very good. The staff were extremely welcoming and professional. We will definitely stay here again.

The staff were very friendly and helpful with suggestions for dinner and day trips. The room had all the conveniences. Heated bathroom floor, very comfortable beds, lovely outlook over the Botanical gardens, excellent breakfast.

Service in the restaurant slow at times. Seemed too few staff for the number of visitors. First night at dinner took a long time to be served. At breakfast they ran out of pasties so I asked if they could be topped up. Nothing happened and no-one said anything to me. On the day we arrived. We were asked if we would like a drink taken to our room so we asked for coffees. They took at least half an hour to arrive.

Pleasant quiet location opposite North Harley Park. Easy to walk into the centre and not too far. Good parking. Large executive room with good facilities. Breakfasts with good quality ingredients. Dinners good too.

The George was beautiful! Upon entering we were immediately pleased with our choice. Fast and friendly check in. Easy parking right out front. Our room was beautiful and so comfortable! Lovely view of the trees. Great temperature control and comfortable beds. The concierge was super helpful and made great suggestions and guidance upon request. My one son was given a later check out which was much appreciated. The dining was delicious in 50 Bistro, just be sure to make a reservation in advance. We were fortunate to get a table.

I generally don’t like ground floors but being on the garden side was quieter than I thought.

Great location- next to the gardens and walking distance to lots of dining/CBD. Excellent service by the friendly staff. Nice touch with the ‘gifted’ Bear named George.
